Scene of Agriculture- Need of such Innovation

Concerns in Agriculture Sector Precarious water regime– Uncertain rains. Over use of ground water. Low Productivity Deteriorating soil health. High Production Vulnerability – Uneven and unstable production from year to year and across the region with in the same year. Inadequate infrastructure. Low Technology adoption. Lack of Crop diversification-Reliance on traditional crops due to low

investment capacity and uncertain weather conditions. Low R&D investment / effort – specially for drought prone / rainfed areas Weak extension machinery – Declining number of extension workers to cater

increasing number of clients (farmers) Inequity between productivity in irrigated and un-irrigated areas. Low investment. Under developed Markets – Inadequate marketing linkage / support.

Aries Agro Ltd was founded by Dr. T. B. Mirchandani and Mrs. Bala Mirchandani in 1969

The Company started by manufacturing a small range of mineral feed additives for animals & birds

Through in-house R&D efforts, the company branched out into Agrochemicals in 1975 with the introduction of Chelated Micronutrients.

Aries Agro Ltd is a pioneer of Agricultural Chelates in India, using indigenously developed technology for

Chelation and Complexing of Multi Micro Nutrients. In 2001, Aries expanded its product line to include secondary

nutrients – sulphur, magnesium and calcium. 2004 saw the further addition of water soluble NPK fertilizers.

Wide network of 25 branches, 4900 distributors and 70000 retailers

across 22 states of India

Investment in Golden Harvest, Sharjah - to set up unit to

manufacture 10,800 tpa of Chelated Micronutrients.

Through Golden Harvest, Aries has invested in Amarak Chamicals

FZC for manufacture of 60,000 tpa of Sulphur Bentonite

Aries is one of India 's fastest growing Mid Size Indian Companies

and has a national presence with over 60,000 retailers and access to

7 million farmers.

Aries has partnered with CII's Young Indians to set up India 's first

National Young Indian Farmers' Network.

Objectives

The aim of the First ever National Farmers Network is to attempt to

bridge the information gap using knowledge as a catalyst.

It focuses on two way knowledge dissemination between Rural Bharat

and Urban India.

Engagement of progressive farmers from across the nation in a

meaningful dialogue to spread awareness about the best practices in

farming being followed in India and adapted from all over the world.

Common platform for scientists, research scholars, agriculturists,

students, government officials and industry to ensure that information

flows freely and without barriers.

Mr. Ramchand Saini

Only farmer to initiate Green House Cultivation for specialized

vegetable and exotic crops at Jhunjhunu, near Jaipur in

Rajasthan

Used the most sophisticated technologies in the form of

1. irrigation system,

2. Fogging system to limit the use in the desert state

3. Temperature control system to maintain the correct

temperature within the cultivated area

4. Use of speciality plant nutrition products to increase the

yield.

This green house project in the state of

Rajastahn, Jhunjhunu dist, has a total ten

green houses, each having area of 1000 sq

mts, and four more are coming up, in next

few weeks.

From this ten green houses, color

capsicum will be harvested, which started

from, end of August 2010 for 150 days,

producing total 1,50,000 kg color

capsicum in all ten green houses in 150

days.

The average gate price for the crop

would be a minimum of 50.00/-

Greenhouse Technology

The benefits which can be derived from the green house cultivation are as follows :

1. Environment control allows raising plants anywhere in the world at any time of the year

i.e. crops could be grown under the inclement climatic conditions when it would not be

otherwise possible to grow crops under the open field conditions.

2. The crop yields are at the maximum level per unit area, per unit volume and per unit

input basis.

3. The control of the microcosm allows the production of higher quality products which are

free from insect attack, pathogens and chemical residue.

4. High value and high quality crops could be grown for export markets.

5. Income from the small and the marginal land holdings maintained by the farmer can be

increased by producing crops meant for the export markets.

6. It can be used to generate self employment for the educated rural youth in the farm

sector.

Social Equity Local farmer community has never seen a colored capscicum /exotic crops like this. Offers higher remunerative prices Empowerment of women- Women are best suited for greenhouse cultivation as it is similar to domestic responsibilities in terms of activities involved

Environment Sustainability Best suited techniques in water scarce regions High quality crops in less resources With new irrigation techniques like drip irrigation, it works very

good in areas like Jhujhunu with limited water table.

Global Scalability Green technology is already practiced for tomatoes all round the

world. In India, for the growth of exotic crops, it has been used for the first time and can be easily expanded once successful operations are conducted at the existing place.

Price- Performance Levels The average gate price for the crop would be a minimum of

50.00/- The total expected sales revenue generation, in one season is Rs.

75,00,000=00 Growth of 4-5 times yield of capscicum from the normal levels with

this greenhouse technology
