Being thankful/
With Thanksgiving approaching next week, it’s easy to get sidetracked with all the work
each of us has on our tables. We sometimes forget the little things in our lives to be
thankful for. Many people have paved the way for us to enjoy the luxuries we have today;
we have lights, clean running water and heat at our disposal everyday, all of which can
easily be taken for granted. There are many places in this world that still don't have these
luxuries and some live in conditions where they are fearful for theirs and their families
lives. Take a moment to think of something you are thankful for and reflect on its impact
in your life. The world is an amazing (and dangerous) place and when we remember to be
thankful we contribute to making it better.

PRESIDENTS PLUG
ASPE’s 2015 Annual golf outing had a great turn out with many of our mem/
bers and guests attending on what turned out to be a great afternoon for golf
at Sunrise Golf Course. ASPE was able to raise money for scholarships we
will be providing for a candidate in the near future!

Chapter Website. Website is up to date.
Chapter Achievement Award Assignments – No action
Poker Tournament – Nate Miller – Tournament will take place in January.
Business Card Advertising – Nick Peschang to send out billings for this; we need to have a
newsletter sent out in order to actually do some advertising.
Scholarships – Mike Huskey – 3 scholarships will be awarded this year.

Annual budget needs to be established.

Certification – Scott Robinson – No report. CPE presentation at future meeting?
Fellowship – Nate Miller – Dinner meeting at Granite City Brew & Food. We need a program for this.
Nate suggested a program with Rock Island Renaissance.
Fundraising – Evan Powers – Sign up sheet was sent around at the last dinner meeting for members
wanting to furnish raffle prizes for the year.
Golf Outing – Scott Mouw – No report..
Leadership Development – Gary Kamp – No report. Gary would like to be relieved of this committee.

As part of the National ASPE Awards Program, we submit various items every year in order to accumu�late enough points to earn the highest awards possible for our chapter. These achievements are recog�nized at ASPE’s National Convention. Many of these points are earned through membership, certifica�tion, participation both within and outside the organization and from the contents of this newsletter. We ask that you please consider doing your part to help us be the best chapter that we can. Attending monthly meetings, enlisting a new member, becoming a CPE, or simply writing a technical article for the Bottom Line are all great and easy ways that you can make Quad City Chapter # 71 even better.
