Within the media company we

are working in four different

media fields: New Media &

Audiovisual, Print and Music.

Jort is the brain of the

New Media sector. With his

impressing Photoshop and

Indesign knowledge there is a

lot to learn from him.

Daniel, Audiovisual Manager is

producing the M&EM Broadcast

‘Stenden Magazine’.

Marijke is the only woman

in the group. Within the LC she

is responsible for the Print

sector, before she came to

Stenden Marijke was a

journalist.

Martijn, with his Indesign skills

is the general instructor in the

LC. Though, if you had a great

Study Start Week, thank this

guy!

Critical review by Kendra Ros

Review M&EM Doku

As I am the group manager of the documentary

project during module 2, I’m really glad that there

was a group before us. Now we at least have a

few guidelines to create a new and different, and

better product. We were asked to give feedback,

so we would have a better idea of what is expected

of us.

Now we do! The group is awesome so far! Good

communication and everyone is willing to help

each other. Ideas keep flowing all the time and we

have a plan. The group involves 8 members. Tasks

consist of director, editorial, music, filming, head

editor, editing, production, narrating, reporter,

contact person and me, the Upperbitch. We

started shooting on Thursday, and we will be in the

Learning Company a lot, so you will see us around.

Don’t be scared. The camera won’t bite.

We might though. So, try to be nice to us.

The documentary group has started to film!

We would like to give the best view of the module

possible. So if you are planning something

awesome, amazing, funny, normal, boring or

whatever, you can always talk to someone of us.

Also there will be a complaining bench. Though

we have one camera, so if you want to complain

about anything (fun, sad, boring, hard) just hit us

up. We’ll set up the complaining bench and give it

all to you! Only thing we ask from you

is to be honest.

Production Manager,

Kendra

First years working on their concepts.

For the first year students it is the first time to work in the Learning Company.

We have asked a few of them to give us their first impressions with regard to the

sectors they work in and the LC in general.

Audivisual

“Our first impression of the AV sector assign-

ment is that there are a lot of things we have to

do in just a couple days, but I’m very interested

in the production of this assignment and I be-

lieve it will be a very creative assignment.

Moreover, we are also very excited about using

professional equipment to produce our assign-

ment with. As we know these equipments are

very expensive and we like the idea of making

a professional

report with professional equipments.”

Sandra van Duijvenvoorde, Umit Ugan

Music

Our first sector in the LC was music. Further-

more it is something new to us working in the

music sector. Although we may not be working

in the sector afterwards it is still exciting to see

how everything is working and to go tot he

studio and to record a real song.

Although we are working well together, the

groups are too small. Being managed by third

year students is godd, because weg et a lot of

feedback and learn a lot.

Impressions of our newbies

Thank you for reading our first issue

of Inside the Company. We appreci-

ate it a lot and we want to thank all

of you for your cooperation to accom-

plish this.

‘Thanks’ to the first year students for

sharing your first impressions of the

Learning Company.

‘Thank you’, third year managers

for writing an exciting review of the

M&EM Documentary.

‘Thank you’ to the tutors for being

available for questions and support.

the first week of Media Produc-

tions. Credits go to Duc Dang, Felina

Schmicker, NIklas Groh and Lara Pa-

rensen.

“I think this module is very

interesting and fun to do.

Because this is a practice mod-

ule, I really like that you look

into the life of media and get to

do and making thing yourself.

At first I was a bit nervous, for

all the programs that we have

to work with. Because I did not

know how to work with them

at all, but now I am already

making a digital magazine for

an IPad.”

Cava Zomer

Print

“I think it is great to gather

new experiences by working on

the @MEM. It is nice to discov-

er what the sector looks like,

but on the other hand I think

that other sectors are much

more interesting to discover.

Working in the learning com-

pany is not a problem for me,

I love the atmosphere. Get-

ting used to the computers is

a minor problem, but I love

that everything is modern and

new.”

Marloes Fidom

“I think print is an interesting

and nice sector. I like the fact

that the assignment is creative

and digital. Normally I can

focus well, but the learning

company is a little noisy some-

times so then it is a little hard

for me to concentrate.”
