Corrusu C-051The word “horn” is quite obviously connected to the root KRN,as well as that of a word “crown”, which is another symbolic expression of the same idea. The root KRN easily changes in QRN, like in Arabic word Qarn (which means “horn”, but has also another meaning: “age”, “cycle” or “century”) or HRN, like in English “horn”. Linguistically, the words horn (HRN) and crown (CRN) are very similar and considering that horns were always considered a symbol of power and quite literally of weapons and have been often depicted as attributes of many ancient Gods, the two words may very well come from the same linguistic root.

The Sardinian jewels are closely linked to re-gional costume. The most characteristic feature is undoubtedly the jewel button: a double shell, gold or silver - present both in male and the fe-male costume has an archaic purity and beauty, in a stylized playing the female breast, back to our ancient symbols fertility and procreation wishes, related to the Phoenician goddess Tanit.
