restarting the unit.

11. Connecting to WiFi via network cable

NOTE: Only use this method if WiFi QR code scanning is not available.

Step 1: Connect the aeras unit to the LAN port of your router via a network cable.Step 2: Once the WiFi is established, go to ‘Device List’. Slide down to refresh the App to locate the unit.

Step 3: Configure the unit to your WiFi.Go to ‘Device List > Device > Setting > Network Settings’. For ‘Network Type’ choose ‘WiFi’ and press ‘OK’. Select your WiFi network from the ‘WiFi list’, enter our WiFi password and press ‘OK’.

12. Wall mounting the aeras unit

NOTE: The WiFi antenna should be installed inside the house for better signal strength.

Prior to wall mounting the unit, please confirm that the correct WiFi settings are configured and ensure that the area where it is to be mounted receives adequate WiFi signal strength.

To improve WiFi signal strength, you can try to relocate your router or adjust the direction of the WiFi antenna.

If the WiFi signal is still not sufficient, you can consider utilizing WiFi repeaters or connecting directly via a network cable.

Step 1: Create a mounting hole to accommodate the size of the back housing of the aeras unit.

Drill a hole for the wires to go through the wall. Using the hexagonal screw driver provided, remove the rain cover screw at the bottom of the unit. Remove the stick on the rain cover and stick the ring cover onto the wall.

Step 2: Fix the back housing onto the wall using two screws.

Step 3: Thread the wires through the hole in the wall and place the unit into the back housing. Tighten the screw at the bottom of the unit to fix the unit to the housing.

Step 4: Connect the antenna, remove the antenna’s sticker and stick the antenna onto the wall.

Step 5: Connect the wires as per the wiring diagram below.

13. Tamper Alarm

There is a built in tamper switch on the aeras unit. In case of tamper, the device will emit an audible alarm and will also send a tamper alarm notification to connected devices. The tamper alarm will last for 60 seconds.

1. Why can’t I scan the QR code?

• The unit will make short beeping sounds (DI DI DI DI…) to indicate it is ready to scan the QR code. If no beeping sound is emitted by the unit, it means the unit has previously scanned the WiFi QR code. Press and hold the ‘reset’ button down for 5 seconds until you hear a “KING” sound. The unit will then make the short beeping sounds and be ready to scan the WiFi QR code.

• The unit cannot scan the WiFi QR code more than once. Reset the unit as per the instructions above and try again.

• If the unit is connected using an RJ45 network cable, it will not be able to scan the QR code. Remove the network cable and try again.

• The unit does not support 5GHz WiFi. Check to make sure your router is set to use 2.4GHz WiFi to connect.

2. Why can’t I receive Push Notifications from the unit on my device?

• Check that ‘Device > Settings > Alarm Settings > Receive Alarm Message’ is enabled.

• Check that the App remains open and running in the background on your device. Also check that you haven’t ‘force quit’ the App in the device’s application manager.

• When you first install and open the aeras App, make sure you choose ‘OK’ to allow the app to send Push Notifications to your device. If you had not done this, check your device’s Notification Centre settings to ensure notifications from the aeras App are allowed.

• If two devices use the same User ID to login simultaneously, only one of the devices will receive push notifications from the aeras Unit. If you wish to connect multiple devices to the unit, it is recommended that you register a separate User ID for each device.

3. Why is the audio/video quality on my device so bad? E.g. audio not clear or no sound at all, delayed video/audio, no video feed etc.

• The WiFi network that the aeras unit and its devices are on may be poor or unstable. Select the ‘LD’ mode on the aeras App interface to see if this fixes the issues. A network with high bandwidth capabilities may be required.

• Another cause for bandwidth issues is that there are too many devices (e.g. PCs, laptops, tablets etc.) connected to the same router. Please try removing unneeded devices from the WiFi network or consider upgrading the bandwidth capabilities of your network.

• If your phone/tablet is using 3G or 4G please ensure you have a good quality signal as a poor signal will cause degraded performance.

• If your WiFi network has been disabled or turned off, when you turn the WiFi back on you will need to reboot the Aeras Intercom to reconnect it to the WiFi network as it only connects to WiFi on startup.

FAQ

4. Why is there audio/video delay when I mount the unit outside at distances further than the front/entrance door? E.g. when mounted on the fence.

• The delay is likely caused due to the distance between the aeras unit and the connected device. Any materials between the unit and the device may also cause WiFi signal interference E.g. the thickness of the fence the unit is mounted on.

5. Why are there audio problems from the unit to my device? E.g. Shrill sounds, volume too quiet, or no sound at all on an Android device?

• The volume capability and built-in speakers across different devices (smart phones/tablets) varies considerably. Try adjusting the volume on your device until the audio level is satisfactory.

• iPhones, iPads and most Android phones have speakers good enough to handle audio from aeras unit. Only a handful of Android devices will have speakers that do not work well with the aeras unit. If you have one of these devices, you can use the ‘Hear/Talk’ button on the aeras app [icon] to limit audio to one way communication. E.g. Press the button to listen, press the button again to talk.

6. Why is there feedback or an echo coming from the device?

• The device is most likely located too close to where the aeras unit is mounted. Move the device further away from the unit to see if the feedback/echo disappears.

7. Why can’t I unlock the door from the aeras App?

• You may not be holding the door release button on the App for long enough. The button must be held down for 3 seconds to unlock the door.

• Your wiring between the lock and the aeras unit may be incorrect. Please refer to the wiring diagram in this manual to check wiring is correct.

8. How do I update the aeras App to fix known issues?

• Go to ‘Systems Settings’ and press ‘Update’.

9. How do I update the aeras Unit firmware to fix known issues?

• Go to ‘Device List > Device > Settings’ and press ‘Device Update’.

10. Why won’t my Android device receive Push Notifications from the unit?

• A small number of Android devices do not support Push Notifications. Please check your device’s specifications to see if it supports Push Notifications. If it does not, you will need to use another device with your aeras unit.

Tap ‘Security Setting’
