1. Log into www.abam.net.

2. See Certification block,click on: Click Here for Exam Tutorial.

On the day of the exam, this tutorial will be optional. You will have 15 minutes to complete it. This time is offered in addition to the time allotted for the actual exam.

7. Desktop will now have the Tutorial files.

8. Double-click the InstallFredV2ABAM icon. Follow the on-screen prompts to guide you through the installation.

9. After the installation is complete, you should see entries in your Program Menu.

10. A folder will now be on your desktop for running the tutorial with the practice test materials.

If the desktop folder does not appear, click on your desktop area and press the F5 key to refresh your screen, or right-click on your desktop area and select Refresh from the pop-up menu. If the icon is still not visible, sort by “Date Modified”.

11. Running the ABAM Certification/Maintenance of Certification Examination

• To view the orientation materials, you must set your screen resolution to 1024 x 768. Please use your manual or system’s help if you need assistance changing these settings.

• To start the software, double-click on the ABAM Orientation Materials folder on your desktop.

• Double-click the NBME Test Delivery System icon.

6. Save the files to your Desktop.

Orientation Materials:

12. There are two sections to the orientation materials: Tutorial and Sample Items.

The tutorial portion will illustrate how the computerized test works and will provide the opportunity to practice before taking the test in November.

The sample items portion has 20 examples of test questions.

Don’t worry about whether you answer the questions correctly or not. Concentrate instead on learning how to answer the questions using the features of the computerized test.

To run the Tutorial: Click on Tutorial and click on the Run Exam button. When you are done, click on End Block and wait until the window closes.

To run Sample Items: Click on Sample Items and click on the Run Exam button.

Options-Enable Show Answer Button or Timed Exam:

• You can choose to run the orientation materials with or without answers (by checking or unchecking the Enable “Show Answer” Button box).

• You can choose to run the orientation materials as a timed exam or an untimed exam (by checking or unchecking the Timed Exam box).

• When you are finished practicing, you will be returned to the FRED V2 Orientation window. Click on the Close button to finish your practice session.
