INSTITUTE OF HOTEL MANAGEMENT CATERING TECHNOLOGY & APPLIED NUTRITION, ROHTAK

Institute of Hotel Management Catering Technology & Applied Nutrition-Rohtak is an autonomous body under Department of Tourism, Govt. of Haryana. The Institute is affiliated to National Council for Hotel Management And Catering Technology (NCHMCT), Noida which is an apex body that runs and regulates academics for BSc. Hospitality & Hotel Administration and Diploma programs in core operational areas.

The Institute follows standardized course curricula prescribed by NCHMCT for different professional programs. Quality of education and training provided by the Institute help students to emerge as professionally qualified personnel for hospitality and other allied service sectors.

b) For Others : upto 25 years

Rs.400/- (Rs.300/- for SC/BC Category)

Prospectus containing application form and information brochure can be obtained from the Institute on all working days between 09:00 am to 05:00 pm.

The form can also be downloaded from website of the Institute "www.ihmrohtak.com". Duly filled form is to be submitted in the Institute along with Demand Draft of requisite application fee in favor of "Principal, Institute of Hotel Management Rohtak" payable at Rohtak.

Date of commencement of new session will be intimated at the time of the admission.

COUNSELLING :

The schedule for Counselling will be notified in the advertisement/website of the Institute.

RESERVATION :

As per Haryana Govt. reservation policy.Reservation is interchangeable if sufficient number of reserved category candidates are not available.

HOW TO APPLY

Duly filled prescribed application forms must be submitted in the Institute by prescribed date announced separately. Incomplete applications/late applications will be rejected.

Institute will not be responsible for non-receipt/late receipt of application forms, selection memos and other correspondence regarding admission.

Foreign nationals should route their application with all necessary particulars such as Passport Number, Visa, Place of Birth, Nativity etc. through their Embassy.

Candidates must bring original certificates/documents at the time of interview for verification.

Candidates must attach attested copies of following certificates/documents along with the application form:

i) Date of Birth Certificate

ii) Certificate of good health from a Registered Medical Practitioner as per attached format.

iii) Declaration certificate as per attached format.

iv) Certificate(s) of educational qualifications, including detailed mark sheet.

v) Certificate in support of belonging to a Schedules Caste/Backward Caste to be issued by officer not below the rank of Tehsildar.

vi) Character certificate from the head of the Institution last attended. If gap period is more than a year, character certificate should be issued by Gazetted Officer of State or Central Government / Sarpanch/MLA.

vii) 6 passport size photographs similar to one pasted on the application form.

viii) Applicable handicap certificate as per government norms.

POST MATRIC SCHOLARSHIP

Post matric scholarship is available for SC/BC candidates under respective state government policy.

PAYMENT OF FEES

Fee is payable in two installments (1st at the time of admission and 2nd in the month of December or as decided by the Principal) through Bank Challan/Demand Draft failing which candidate will be debarred from the course.

Fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.

CAUTION MONEY DEPOSIT :

Caution money will be refunded after completion of the course after deducting fines/breakages etc. Application for refund of caution money in between course will not be entertained.

COMMENCEMENT OF SESSION AND WORKING HOURS OF THE INSTITUTE

V Commencement of the session will be intimated at the time of admission.

V One & Half Year's Diploma courses offered by the Institute are full time regular courses.

V Academic Hours from 09:00 AM to 05:00 PM.

ANY OTHER DETAILS NOT SPECIFICALLY COVERED BY ABOVE CLAUSES WILL BE DECIDED BY THE PRINCIPAL WHOSE DECISION WILL BE FINAL

REGULATIONS OF THE INSTITUTE OF HOTEL MANAGEMENT

1. RAGGING in the Institute is strictly prohibited and any matter, if reported, name of the defaulter would be struck off the roll of the Institute.

2. Every student must, on admission obtain an Identity Card which will be supplied from the Institute's office. The student must always carry the card with his photograph affixed on the same and present it for inspection when demanded. No student will be allowed to attend classes, practical etc. unless he or she has his/her Identity card with him/her.

3. Student must attend theory classes, practical and tutorials of the Institute and take part in assignments arranged by the Institute for hands on experience. Students must not absent themselves from any of the Institute's curricular and co-curricular activity without the prior permission of the Principal. Such absence without leave may lead to loss of term, since to keep a term a Student has to complete to the satisfaction of the Principal the course of study prescribed for the class to which the student belongs. Each student is required to complete 75% attendance failing which he or she will be disqualified from sitting for the final examination.

3. Students must not attend any class other than their own without permission of the Principal.

4. Conduct of the students in their classes as well as in premises of the institute shall be such that will not cause any disturbance to the fellow students or to other classes. The principal may expel a student whose work or conduct is not satisfactory and the fees paid will be forfeited.

5. Students must not loiter about the Institute premises while the classes are on.

6. Smoking is not permitted inside the Institute's Campus.

7. Students shall do nothing either inside or outside the Institute that may in any way interfere with its ordinary administration and discipline.

8. No Society shall be formed in the Institute and no person invited to address a meeting without the prior permission of the principal.

9. In debates and other meetings the chair must be taken by a responsible person approved by the Principal and the subject of debates must also have previous approval of the Principal.

10. No student will take active part in current politics

11. No student should communicate any Information or write about matters dealing with the Institute administration to press.

12. Students are expected to take proper care of the Institute's property and to help in keeping the premises neat and tidy. Any damage done to property of the Institute by disfiguring walls. doors, or breaking furniture fittings etc. is a breach of discipline and liable to severe punishment, recovery of loss and fines

13. If for any reason the continuance of a student in the institute is detrimental to the best interest of the Institute in the opinion of the Principal,which shall be final and binding,the Principal may ask such students to leave the Institute without giving reason for his decision.

14. Absence without leave is considered a breach of discipline and is liable for fines. No leave will be granted without previous application, except in case of illness or emergency. Prior permission must be obtained for all other leave form the Principal who will consider the application on individual merits.

15. Name of the student, continuously absenting himself for five days without permission, shall be struck off the Institute rolls. The students can be readmitted on a payment of readmission fee of Rs. 500- within five working days in case the Principal is satisfied that the absence was due to circumstances beyond the control of the student.

A candidate who does not join the course after depositing the fee for ten continuous working days or a candidate whose name is struck off from the roll of the Institute and he/she does not seek re- admission for 5 working days from the day his/her name was struck off, his/her admission will cancelled and seat(s) will be given to the candidate(s) on the list.

16. Students when free should make use of the Institute's Library and must not loiter about on the premises of the Institute.

17. Non-compliance of the rules of the Institute can also be dealt by means of suitable fines and disciplinary action.

18. Candidates are not allowed to do any part time job or any other Course of education along with the training. Defaulter shall be terminated at the sole discretion of Principal.

19. The Institute's authority cannot accept any liability in respect of any accident a student may sustain while engaged in practical work, vocational work, or due to any other cause.

20. The students should instruct their friends/relatives not to call them on the office telephone. The students are also, prohibited to use the office telephone.

21. Parents are advised to regularly check website of the Institute "www.ihmrohtak.com" updates and progress of their child. It is also advisable for parents to keep in touch with the institute.

22. Fee once paid is not refundable under any circumstances. No claim, whatsoever, will be entertained in this regard.

23. Students have to perform duties from time to time in various events. They may also be deputed to other catering establishments for hands on training.

RULES FOR HOSTEL RESIDENTS

1. Following rules and regulations are to be strictly adhered to by the residents of the hostel in the campus; in case of any violation of the said rules strict disciplinary action would be taken against the student.

2. RAGGING in the hostel is strictly prohibited and any matter reported, the name of the student would be struck off the roll of the Institute.

3. Hostlers are required to maintain the hostel and mess timings as per the following schedule:

a) Hostel gate will open in the morning at 06.00 a.m. Entry in the hostel is not allowed after 08.00 p.m. However no female student is allowed to move out of the campus without the permission of the warden.

b) The hostel would remain closed from 09.00 a.m. to 05.00 p.m. hrs during working days of the college. No student should stay back in the hostel during these hours. Permission would be granted only by the warden in case of an emergency.

c) Mess timings are as follows:

Breakfast - 07.45 a.m. to 08.30 a.m.

Lunch - 01.00 p.m. to 13.30 p.m.

Evening tea - 05.15 p.m. to 05.30 p.m.

Dinner - 08.00 a.m. to 08.30 p.m.

(On weekends and holidays breakfast will be served from 9.A.M. to 9.30 A.M.)

d) If due to any reason a hostel resident does not want to take any meal he / she will have to inform the mess incharge four hrs in advance, failing which a fine of Rs. 50/- will be charged.

4. (a) All the girls are directed to go to the mess for the meal in proper salwar- kameez and dupatta (any girl not abiding by the dress code would not be permitted in the mess).

(b) All the boys are required to wear proper clothes to go mess, under no circumstances boys in half pant / Bermuda/sleeveless clothes etc. will be allowed to dine in the mess or walk in the campus.

5. Permission to go home would be granted by the warden only after she / he has got the consent of the parents over the phone.

6. Permission for the weekend outings to be taken from the warden on the last working day of the week (Friday) in the college itself. No student to approach the warden at her / his residence for the grant of permission on weekends.

7. In case of any ill health the student would be taken immediately to the nearest hospital but the expenses of the medicine and incase of any treatment have to be borne by the student itself.

8. Each hosteller is required to maintain 75% attendance in theory and practical classes, in case of shortage of attendance the hostel facility would be withdrawn from the student.

9. Use of electric iron, heater, electrical appliances and music system is not allowed in the hostel. In case anyone found using the same would be confiscated from the student.

10. Cooking in any part of the hostel is not allowed.

11. Each Hosteller is required to bring with him his her own mattress, bedding, bucket and mug. Each hosteller will be provided one bed, one study chair and one table.

12. Hostellers are required to take care of their own belongings and valuables. Each student will be provided one lockable cupboard. Institute will not be responsible loss of any valuables.

13. Day scholar are not allowed in the hostel, if any hosteller is found entertaining day scholar in his / her room, strict action will be taken against him / her leading to expulsion from the hostel or imposition of fine.

14. Each hosteller is required to perform specific duties in the mess on rotation basis as per the directives of the mess in charge.

15. Only plastic bottles will be allowed to keep water in the room.

16. Consumption of alcohol, drug and smoking is strictly prohibited in the hostel. Defaulters will be asked to vacate the hostel immediately.

17. Hostellers are required to keep their room and surroundings clean and do sweeping in the room and keep dust bin outside their room, in case anybody's room found dirty a fine of Rs.100 would be charged (after a warning).

18. Hostellers are advised to maintain the hostel property in good condition and anybody found deliberately destroying the same would be charged a fine and would be bound to repair/replace the item damaged.

19. Hostellers are required to switch off the lights and fans when not in use as power backups will remain active only for four hours. While leaving the hostel on the completion of the term, hostellers are required to handover their room to the Maintenance In charge and obtain No Dues Certificate. The amount of any damages will be recovered from hostel caution money.

20. Students are directed not to approach any faculty or staff member's residence in the campus for any personal or official matter as all matters are to be sorted out in the college itself during the college timings.

21. The students staying in the hostel are advised not to give their mobile nos. to anybody or else, they would themselves be responsible for any prank calls or SMS.

22. For the allotment of the room in the hostel, decision of the warden will be final and binding for all the Hostellers.

23. No parent / friend / relatives will be allowed to stay in the hostel.

24. Resident of the boys' hostel will be allowed to go out after Institute hrs up to 7 P.M. to purchase daily needs. On weekends and holidays boys can go out from 10 A.M. to 6P.M. For night out written permission of warden is compulsory.

25. No resident of girls' hostel will be allowed to move out of the campus without the written permission of girls' hostel warden on any day at any time.

26. Only parents (Mother & Father) will be allowed meet the resident of girl's hostel. If parents are authorizing any relative (even brother or sister) friend then they should submit in writing and affix the photograph of authorized visitors on the hostel application form.

27. All students are supposed to bring their own individual CFL/LED Table Lamps for studying.

28. While leaving for lunch, dinner, classes or on weekends, all lights & fan must be switched off or else fine of Rs. 200/-will be imposed.

29. At the end of each semester a student shall vacate his/her room within three days after the final examination of the course is over and hand over the charge of the room including all items on the inventory to the caretaker-or-any other official of the hostel authorized by warden.

30. Pasting of poster, writing on walls, slogans of any kind or defacing the hostel in any form is not allowed.

31. The Hostel management reserves the right to make spot checks without having to give prior notice to the students.

32. Hostellers are advised to lock all doors at all times for security reasons.

33. The hostel management is not responsible for any loss of private property. Hostlers are strongly advised to lock all your valuable e.g. mobile phones, laptop, watches, money etc at all time.

34. Hostellers are not permitted to change rooms or sleep anywhere other than their own room.

35. Hostellers are not permitted to undertake any part-time job or join part time courses unless with approval of Hostel Warden.

36. Shouting, calling out, whistling and singing aloud will not be tolerated in the hostel.

37. All the students must bring their dinner plate, glass in the mess dining hall during breakfast / lunch/dinner time.

38. Plate sharing is not allowed. Fine will be imposed on defaulters.

39. Students are not allowed to carry food in their room.

40. In case of loss of key by the occupant, security must be informed to open the lock. Damaging bolt/latch will attract penal action.

Note: No hostel fee will be refunded at all under any circumstances if the student is expelled from the hostel due to any disciplinary action.
