Training professionals for 17 years

The Vericat Training Institute was created as a result of the scientific consolidation of a clinical project initiated by Dr Alberto Vericat, oral surgeon with 20 years’ experience dedicated exclusively to dental implantology.

The training offer of the centre has been specifically designed for odontologists and stomatologists who wish to expand or improve their knowledge.

The Institute operates under the direction of Dr Alberto Vericat, and Dr Vicente Antonino is the academic director.

The Vericat Training Institute has its own teaching team and also works in conjunction with nationally and internationally renowned professionals in order to offer the students a comprehensive view of each discipline.

The specialisation programmes in the Vericat Training Institute are focused on four major knowledge areas:

· Oral implantology. · Prosthetics, implant prosthetics and cosmetic dentistry.· Periodontology.· Coaching and management of dental clinics.

Next to the City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia, the Vericat Training Institute is at an excellent location in one of the most bright and modern parts of the city.

The facilities are over 1,350 m2 and include:

· 19 dental chairs.· Conference room equipped with 4K projector.· CCTV to follow live surgeries from different parts of the Institute, including the conference room, with the functionality to interact with the operating theatre.

In addition, the students can enjoy premises created exclusively for them, such as changing rooms, breakfast area and rest areas.

These are state-of-the-art facilities for training at the highest standards, prepared to train the best professionals in the field of implantology, prosthetics and periodontology, the foundations of oral rehabilitation.

Intensive Course on Advanced Tissue Management

This intensive training programme lasts 3 days and has been designed for odontologists and oral and maxillofacial surgeons with some experience in the field of implantology.

Justification

It is an event of scientific training aimed to train doctors in oral surgery and dental implantology fields, especially, understanding the management of the hard and soft peri-implant tissues. It is a mostly practical course with patients provided by the consultation itself and with templates to understand how to avoid risk factors in the modern dental implantology.

Objective

The aim of the course is that the attendees acquire the necessary theoretical knowledge and skills in tissue management techniques in order to incorporate them into their daily clinical practice, in unitary, partial and total edentulism cases.

In order to achieve this goal, an eminently practical program has been designed. Attendees will be able to attend the visualization of live surgeries and understand how to use the dental implant’s components to avoid risk factors: this means avoiding mucositis and peri-implantitis without any additional cost for the surgeon and/or the dental clinic.

From the theoretical point of view, this program has been prepared to develop the key requirements and concepts that will make the advanced tissue management a secure and predictable technique.

Program development

> The baseline of the scientific program: this is an advanced training program, eminently practical where:

- Live surgeries where doctors will visualize the placement of dental implants in the operating room and how to organize the implant prosthodintics.

- Prosthodontics will be performed on templates by the attendes.

- Scientific evidence.

- Clinical case reports.

> To whom it is directed: To professionals who want to acquire a high level experience for the use of an implant system for advanced treatments in dental Implantology. In addition, they will achieve the necessary knowledge to predict the bone remodelling and maintenance of long-term implants in simple and advanced cases.

· Evolution of implantology in the last 20 years: from osteointegration to the importance of marginal remodelling for keeping the implants in the long term. · Biological foundation and drilling protocol of the ADVAN system.

· Presentation of outcomes two years after treatment: Predictable bone remodelling.

· Importance of the implant-prosthetic abutment complex for marginal bone remodelling.

· GFA: key factor in unitary rehabilitation.

· Success factors in immediate loading. Importance of immediate loading for soft tissue aesthetics.

· Final prosthetic rehabilitation: Implant-Bridge-Zirconio Pretau prosthetics

6.00 pm - 7.15 pmProsthetic abutments workshop. Handling prosthetic abutments and the different prosthetic options.

7.15 pm - 8.00 pm Attaching the immediate loadings prepared in the morning and discussion of morning surgery and immediate loading prosthetics.

9.00 am - 10.30 amLive surgery with immediate implants after extraction in the top front cosmetic region, associated to the technique of connective tissue and immediate loading.

11.00 am - 1.30 pmLive minimally invasive surgery of complete upper maxilla for immediate loading.

1.30 pm - 2.00 pmDiscussion and questions about the cases treated in the morning.

· Key factors for predictable bone remodelling: keeping the implants in the long term.

· Is saucerisation an acceptable defect with the new implant systems?

· Is it possible to minimise periimplantitis with the new im-plant systems and with the new drilling protocols?

· Are implant insertion torques relevant in marginal bone remodelling?
