Challenge

Evonik wanted to build a reusable platform to automate master data creation and processing of

information describing highly specialized products. The company embarked on a proof-of-concept project

to support qualified purchasing personal as they gathered key characteristics of steel drums used for

storing specialty chemicals.

Solution

An intelligent robotic process solution based on the SAP Data Intelligence cloud service let Evonik use

machine learning to extract pertinent data from vendors’ semi-structured packaging specifications. The

technology selects the data for quick loading into the SAP ERP application for use in purchase orders

and materials classification.

Outcome

With the relevant information highlighted, experts can complete recording tasks quickly and accurately.

This allows them to focus on value-added tasks and helps minimize out-of-stock situations for packaging

materials. The solution can now be deployed productively and reused for other use cases with minimal IT

intervention.

Challenge

REHAU Polymer China Co. Ltd develops innovative polymer-based solutions that enable

quality, efficiency, and sustainability in homes, on the road, and elsewhere. As the Chinese

branch of the worldwide REHAU Group, the company relies on an in-depth knowledge of

materials and extensive experience in technologies and manufacturing processes to

meet the wide-ranging needs of its customers from across industries. However, to protect

its status as a leader in polymers, REHAU knew it needed to create smoother customer

experiences. So it sought the right technology and service support to revolutionize billing..

Solution

The SAP Innovation Services team enabled REHAU to implement SAP® Intelligent Robotics Process

Automation (SAP Intelligent RPA) services on SAP S/4HANA® Cloud and become the first go-live of SAP

Intelligent RPA and intelligent technologies packages in the Asia Pacific Japan Region. Achieve greater

process efficiency through automatic billing workflows.

Outcome

By automating upload and processing of thousands of finance and manufacturing documents per month

in SAP S/4HANA, SAP Intelligent RPA enabled business users to reduce days of manual work into

minutes, thereby freeing up their time for more strategic tasks.
