What they stand for: reasonable regulations and legislation. Find opportunities to support the growth of pork companies. They’re public policy issues surround agriculture and environment, animal health and food safety, industry and international trade.

-The NEA gets its funding from grants provided by the government.

-The main goal of the (NEA) is to keep a healthy environment for students to learn while staying up to speed with the rest of the world.

-Under these hard economic times governmental funding is being dramatically decreased and the (NEA) is trying to fight for educational funding.

-The main concern is always involves the children.

NAACPDifferent departments work to accomplish different things

• Education department improves education at all levels•Legal department works to fight discrimination•Health department works to improve healthcare for minorities•The Washington bureau lobbies the government

“Our members are more than just restaurants ...

Goals:•Improving success rate and restaurant industry profitability•Increase labor supply and improve management practices•Increasing food and alcohol safety/security and increasing restaurant nutrition information•Improving sustainable practices

Events:•January 23, Hill Climb- gives restaurant owners an oppurtunity to talk one-on-one with legislators

•February 9, Public Affairs Day- helps Georgia members connect one-on-one with lawmakers

•Medical Negligence- HEALTH Act. (Help Efficient, Accessible, Low Cost, Timely, Health Care)•Dangerous and Defective Products-FDA warnings on dietary supplements, medicine, and vehicles. •Event- Winter Convention, February 11–15, 2012, Phoenix, AZ•Associated People- Those who teach law, are a student in law, have a law degree, are licensed in law, and you have to have represented someone in a civil ligation.

Sierra Club

• In general this club wants to have: – A safe and healthy community to live in.– Smart energy solutions to combat global warming. – An enduring legacy for America’s wild places.

• Specific issues that this interest group has are:– Creating energy from a less pollutant matter than coal.– Having less of an “addiction” to oil and start to use “smart” ways to effectly run cars and have

renewable energy.– Wanting to protect our air and water by not drilling for natural gas which is harmful.– Working on ways to keep all people and animals healthy on the “warmer planet”– Looking for ways to restore our waters and getting the public more educated about such

issues.

There are 1.4 million members. The group wants to have every possible person who is concerned and wants to help the environment that comes from any age or ethic background.
