The Courses, which are identical, cover the operation of the Aerospace Insurance Market and will take place in the Willis Building, 51 Lime Street, London, EC3M 7DQ.

The following pages contain notes and a general overview of the Courses. We hope these will help you in deciding on the delegate you wish to nominate.

WELCOME TO THE WILLIS INTERNATIONAL AVIATION INSURANCE COURSE. WE HAVE BEEN PROVIDING THIS COURSE FOR OVER 20 YEARS TO DELEGATES FROM ALL PARTS OF THE WORLD.

SET OUT OPPOSITE ARE A NUMBER OF GUIDANCE NOTES WHICH WE HOPE YOU WILL FIND HELPFUL.

Regarding the application form, in the first instance please return your form by e-mail to Janet Woods, woodsj@willis.com, your Course Project Manager. Your Course Director will be Steve Doyle.

All further correspondence should be through your Willis host/sponsor.

Although not a requirement, it may assist potential delegates if they have had at least two years’ working aviation experience in insurance or reinsurance.

It is essential that delegates have a good working knowledge of English, particularly in the spoken word, as the Course is conducted in that language.

The planned evening activity is a dinner outing on the River Thames on Thursday.

We would expect delegates to make their own hotel arrangements either direct or through their host at Willis. Delegates are responsible for flight and accommodation costs. However, there are no course fees and lunch will be provided on Course days free of charge.

The application form which is to be found at the back of this brochure will enable you to make a nomination of a delegate or delegates you wish to send on this Course.

Please note that the form contains a closing date for applications.

GUIDANCE NOTES

PLEASE NOTE THAT, AFTER THE GENERAL INTRODUCTION, THE COURSE WILL FOCUS ON MOST ASPECTS OF AEROSPACE INSURANCE PRACTICE INCLUDING BOTH DIRECT AND REINSURANCE BUSINESS.

It includes a general description of the organisation of the Willis Group and its function in broking worldwide; the structure of the market; technical accounting procedures and computer systems.

The Course will cover all risks insured in the aviation market place, risk management, aviation law, legal liability, contracts and leasing and claims handling. Studies of airline, airport, products and manufacturing and air traffic control insurance arrangements will be included. Accompanied by brokers, delegates will visit Lloyd’s.

Dress code will be normal office attire, ie suits and/or smart casual for the men and smart casual for the women.

A detailed timetable for this course will be given to you upon registration on the first day which will take place at Willis offices.
