WHO WE ARE
• Memorial is the only university in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada’s most eastern province.
• Founded in 1925.
• We are the second largest university in Atlantic Canada.
• One of Canada’s top five comprehensive universities according to Macleans magazine 2010.
• Memorial awards bachelor degrees, master degrees, and PhDs, as well as a wide range of certificates and diplomas.

• Memorial has three campuses on the island of Newfoundland: the St. John’s campus; the Marine Institute, also located in St. John’s; and the Grenfell Campus located in Corner Brook, on Newfoundland’s west coast.

NEWFOUNDLAND AND LABRADOR
The population of Newfoundland and Labrador today is approximately 525,000 (2014). Although the majority of present-day Newfoundlanders have English and Irish roots, the province’s diverse history ensures its people embrace the many cultures drawn to the province.

• The International Centre manages student mobility and collaborations with our partner universities. www.mun.ca/international
• The International Student Advising Office (ISA) supports international students on all concerns including documentation, health insurance, and accommodation. The ISA offers student programs including mentorship and peer assistance. www.mun.ca/isa

GRENFELL CAMPUS
The Grenfell Campus is located in Corner Brook on Newfoundland’s west coast. This campus offers undergraduate programming in arts, business, education, fine arts, nursing, resource management and science, and a master of arts in environmental policy. Grenfell is personal, interdisciplinary and full of adventure, and considered more of a home than an institution by 1,300 students. For more information, go to www.grenfell.mun.ca

MASTER’S STUDENTS (full year)
• International Entrance Scholarships: International Entrance Scholarships are non-renewable scholarships for a students’ first year of study. (For program students, not exchange students.) Funding: $3,000 – $15,000
• International Undergraduate Conference Travel Funding: Available to international undergraduate students who are interested in attending a conference related to their studies or co-curricular activities (must take place within exchange semester dates).
• Global Engagement Grants: Are designed to promote an intercultural experience on campus. The funding is designed to help fund events, projects, training sessions or other appropriate ventures with an intercultural focus, whereby the entire student body stands to benefit.
• Graduate: Graduate students at Memorial University may be eligible for a number of internal and external scholarships. Some of these scholarships are administered through the School of Graduate Studies or another administrative unit at Memorial University, while others managed directly by the scholarship agency.
• Graduate Student Fellowships: This funding is intended to support master’s and doctoral students while they devote full-time studies to their research. Funding: $3,000 – $15,000

Subject to capacity, students are able to attend Memorial University for up to three terms – September to April, May to August, or January to August. Note: this requires a Canadian study permit.

OUTGOING EXCHANGEOur current students of Memorial University have the world at their fingertips to study abroad for a single semester or an entire year at our partner institutions. We have exchange agreements with over 125 universities around the world.
Students are encouraged to study abroad for the many benefits, including learning a new language, experiencing a new culture first-hand, complementing classroom learning with hands-on experience, preparing for an international career, and adopting a new perspective on the world.
The International Programs Office in the Faculty of Business Administration also offers Study Abroad opportunities for students studying Business programs.
The Faculty of Arts offers group study programs at our campus in Harlow, U.K. and in France, Germany, Russia, and other locations.
