International Journal of Nursing Practice 2003; 9 : 396 Biography REGIONAL EDITOR BIOGRAPHY International Journal of Nursing Practice Regional Editor for Canada Ms Doris Grinspun is the new Regional Editor for Canada. She has been Executive Director of the Regis- tered Nurses Association of Ontario in Ontario, Toronto, Canada, since 1996. This organization is the professional association representing registered nurses in the province of Ontario. From 1990 to 1996, Ms Grinspun was Program Director of Nursing at Mount Sinai Hospital, Toronto. A native of Chile, Ms Grinspun has a diploma in Nursing from Hadassah School of Nursing in Jerusalem, Israel, a Baccalaureate in nursing from Tel-Aviv Univer- sity, Israel and a Masters in nursing from Ann Arbor Uni- versity in Michigan, United States of America. She is in the final stage of her PhD in sociology and her dissertation centres on the social construction of caring by nurses. Other research interests include the nurse/ patient relationship, health services restructuring, profes- sional practice and rehabilitation. Ms Grinspun has received numerous professional and scholarly awards.
