InternationalisationScholarship for studies abroad
Scholarship to study and / or research at a university / research institute / company or equivalent in another country for a limited period, say 3 months.
Such a stay occurs normally during the second half of the study period, i.e. after licentiate exam
Write your application for financing to Vitoria in a mail. She can also answer questions. The application contains 5 parts:
1. Short motivation/explanation by the PhD-student telling the reason for the visit with a draft planning of the activities2. Approval by the main supervisor assuring that the planned visit is in line with the research studies3. Approval from the company on the business trip4. An invitation from the host organisation, e.g. a mail5. A budget
How to apply
The budget may include costs for travel, double accommodation, visa, vaccinations and other things that are directly attributable to the stay. Approved amount is paid in advance and doctoral student writes and submits a travel report afterwards. The scholarship covers extra expenses for the visit, while the company pays the salary and subsistence as usual
1. The SiCoMaP board (Per, Anna-Karin, Johan) reads the applications and proposes a decision 2. The proposal is sent to the steering group members by the chairman (Johan Vallhagen) for a joint decision.3. Victoria announces the decision
Some details that will be considered for the decision:• The visit is recommended for at least 3 months• The activity at the host organisation should be a task that can not be conducted ”at home”, but support the research• Plan for joint publication with the host organisation is in favour• An application will not be approved for solely ”escape to write the thesis in peace”• The scholarship is not intended for pure conferencing, but can be combined with participating in a relevant conference
