Introduction Welcome to your new Internet service with Activ8me. Throughout this manual we will be going through the basics of setting up your internet service such as connecting to your service type, connecting the router to a PC and logging into the router to change the wireless network security password.

Setup your connection The steps below will guide you through connecting your router to each of the different internet services offered by Activ8me. Based on your type of internet connection the setup steps are a bit different so please browse to the appropriate connection guide.

NBN Fiber Once NBN Co has connected your household’s fiber service you will need to locate the Network Termination Device (NTD) within your home. The NTD looks like this:

After locating the NTD, connect it to router by plugging a blue network cable into the “UNI-D 1” port as shown below.

Should “UNI-D 1” already have a cable connected then please contact customer service on 1300 760 219 to find an alternate port to connect to. Now that the network cable is connected to the NTD, locate the port labeled “WAN” on your router and plug the other end of the network cable into it.

NBN Fixed Wireless After your household has been connected to NBN’s Fixed Wireless Service locate the Network Termination Device in your household. The NTD will look like this:

NBN Satellite These steps will show you how to setup your router to connect the NBN satellite service installed in your home. Firstly, locate the NBN Satellite Network Termination Device installed in your home. The NTD will look like this:

IPStar Satellite These steps will show you how to setup your router to connect the IPStar satellite service installed in your home. Firstly, locate the IPStar modem. The IPStar satellite service modem will look like this:

After locating the device in your home, connect it to your router by plugging a blue network cable into the “LAN” port on the modem.

Now that one end of the network Ethernet cable is connected to the modem, locate the port labeled “WAN” on the back of your router and plug the network cable into it.

ADSL These steps show you how to setup your ADSL connection. Firstly check that you have an ADSL line filter plugged into the telephone socket in your wall.

An adsl line filter.

The corded end of the filter should be plugged into the telephone port of your wall. Now, plug a white phone cable (RJ11) into the ADSL port of your line splitter and plug the other end into the ADSL port of your modem.

Using a blue network cable, connect the WAN port of your modem to the WAN port of the router.

Connect Router To PC Now that you have connected your router to your service point, we will step through how to connect your router to your PC. Plug a blue network cable into any LAN port of your router and then plug the other end of the network cable into any network port of your PC.

Wireless Setup

Router Login Firstly you need to login into your router so that you can access its settings. This can be done through a web browser by connecting to the router and accessing its settings page. Open your web browser of choice and enter the IP address 192.168.0.1 into your browsers web address bar. An alternate address is 192.168.1.1. When prompted for a username and password, use the following login details: Username: admin Password: admin On successful login, the router configuration screen will appear.

Change your network password It is strongly recommended that you protect your wireless network by adding a password to the network connection. Setting a new password in the wireless security settings can do this.

1 To change the wireless security password click on “Wireless” in the left hand menu. 2 Select the “Wireless Security” option in the sub menu. 3 Select the “WPA/WPA2” check box. 4 Enter the desired password into the “Password” field. 5 Click on “Save” at the bottom of the page to save your new password.
