HOW DID THE INTERNET COME TO BE?

o It started as a research project to experiment with connecting computers together with packet switched networks.

o It was developed with funding and leadership of the US Defense Department’s Advanced Research Projects Agency (ARPA).

o ARPANET was the world’s first operational network, and the predecessor of the globel internet

Arpaneto Arpanet was developed by the U.S Department of

Defense.o One theory was that it was developed to survive the

nuclear attack. That theory is often disputed by scientists.

o Microsoft Internet Explorer snagged 96 % of the Browser market.

o IE has only recently been challenged by excellent Mozilla browser.
