First, tell us a little bit about PIVX and why it’s important.

I think before launching into that, I’d like to share two quotes to help frame “what” and “who” PIVX is (at least to me, and it seems many more who are coming through the doors of PIVX).

So why those two quotes? Well, I think it is useful to explain that within PIVX there is a general sense that..”this is just...different.” Yes, it’s a crypto. But also yes, it’s something much more than that. There is a general sense that strip away the tech, the media, the chatter...and we’d all still want to hang out with one another, maybe get our families together for brunch, and chat about life. Underneath it all, there is a HIGH level of respect for one another.

There is a sense of honoring the good in one another, and the immeasurable power that each person contains within….and far too often in this life (and in crypto) it’s not acknowledged, praised, or encouraged. There is a genuine desire to be relational - building connections that transcend beyond the “typical” crypto banter. After all...when the dust settles in life, we’re all living on this planet together. We at PIVX want to live in a peaceful, harmonious, caring, and positive manner. So rather than waiting for “epic amounts of money” or “some big break” to then go DO that….we are “being” that, right now. And I think that is the energy people are sensing. There is a peculiar sense that goes a bit deeper with the folks of PIVX...and that’s really refreshing in this tumultuous sea of crypto.

It means that we believe in this modern age it’s time to allow individuals to exchange and use their wealth how and when they want, with a peace of mind that their transactions are occurring in a rapid fashion, and in a private and verified manner.

Why is that important? We believe everyone has a right to privacy, and we’re working towards a means of transferring perceived wealth and value in a manner that preserves your privacy. We also believe that in order for this endeavor to reach “the masses”...we have to start by treating every single person with respect and care (while striving to build ways to implement this core technology into the distributed ecosystems).

So what are the Specs?PIVX is an open source cryptocurrency that is a code fork of DASH v0.12.0.x core with a custom Proof of Stake (PoS) code implementation for achieving block consensus. Put another way, PIVX took the good stuff of DASH and added other elements to create PIVX.

PIVX was initially launched under the name DNET (Darknet) in early 2016. After developments and increased community involvement, it was decided to professionally rebrand and officially change the name to PIVX to more accurately reflect the

underpinnings of the community ideals and ideologies being hard coded into the cryptocurrency.The brand transition to PIVX (voted on by the community) was successful after the website launch in February 2017.

What skills do you have on board? Yikes. Well, I think to start answering this, I need to say that one of the most humbling and powerful aspects of PIVX is it’s community. All the “skills” I’ll list below are really just extensions or facets of the people who are part of this community. What I mean by that is this: We don’t have a centralized team or “core”. There are folks who might have been with PIVX longer, but that doesn’t matter in terms of “rank” or position. We have people who jump in, and 4 days later are helping to manage 3-4 people in support channels, all because they want to be here. So, I think one of the largest skills that seems to exude from PIVX is that ability to create and manifest an environment you want to be part of. It’s not easy to do. Why? Because it has to be genuine. Lets face it...we are all born with BullShit meters, right? We can smell that and sense it a mile away. It seems like more and more, folks are picking up on the shams of ads and spam of marketing that just reeks of sales and shallow promises. PIVX somehow...seems to have assembled this expanding group of people that are all resonating with a love for one another, a passion to be of use to others, and a desire to enjoy the process. Is that a skill? Perhaps. It’s for sure something I think makes us stand out.

Skills:Community Development: We are over 1000 slack users, many whom are active participants in the community and various projects. The exponential growth of the PIVX community is a testament to some skill (has to be, right)? A lot of us would call it “resonance”...we are exuding a vibe that is attracting people in droves. So the “skill” there might be classified as being true to one’s core. Call that integrity and dedication.

Communication: This might seem odd, but our community is growing largely due to the high level of communication. This applies both ‘internally’ (meaning, within say the slack channels or amongst the various channels of connecting) as well as ‘externally’ (meaning, out to the “world” of folks who haven’t heard about PIVX or have but are not actively engaged...yet). We have a very robust communication system set up in slack (slack.pivx.org) and are working on even more applications of what we’re doing. The flow between the DEVS and the community is really nice, and it’s amazing to see so many members stepping up to help get the word “out.”

Branding: We have an amazing team working with a professional branding firm who is a total PIVX believer and is often in the channels encouraging folks. I mean, what other crypto has embraced the PURPLE as deeply as PIVX?

Adaptability: This is a huge skill that PIVX has (as a whole community). Since there really aren’t any single entities or individuals in control, the entire “PIVX” ecosystem can move and pivot around various changes: be it environmental, marketing, etc. This applies both to massive marketing pushes (someone puts an idea out, it’s rapidly discussed and passed around in the group, till it’s organically branded and formed, and then pushed out) as well as the direction of coin itself, which is community governed. We will be releasing more documentation and briefs about this as things unfold, but we are working towards a more true community governed coin. This allows for a beautiful flow of energy to exist to help steer and guide the coin/community.

How many developers?Good question. As of 3/20/2017, there are 4-5 DEVS (codebase) who have been with the project through most of it’s lifespan (1yr+) and are still highly active on the project. That said, we have recently added another 3-5 DEVS into the fold who are beginning to pick up and work on community projects. The number keeps growing weekly it seems.

On top of this, we also have a handful (3-5) web devs who are all contributing to PIVX.org and community supported sites, and it seems like more are showing up every day.

Potential investors are worried that, since PIVX is a clone coin, that it might not be able to compete with the DASH team. Others think PIVX’s rise might just be a “protest bubble” against DASH’s instamine, just like Ethereum Classic and Zcash Classic. Can you compete with DASH?

So I think a good way to answer this, and the general sense of the community, is that we are not out to “compete” with DASH. While yes, we are indeed a clone of DASH and there are shared features, there is also a lot that differs. That being said...the goal and focus is not to “beat dash”...but rather build and develop a community centric crypto-economy. From day one (when the coin was launched as “DarkNet or DNET”) the focus was on building a crypto that was solid. Of course, what do you do? What does nature always do? It looks at what is available, and takes from the perceived strengths of that moment, and implements. Sometimes it results in growth. Other

Times not. In crypto land - sometimes it works, sometimes not. With PIVX, we relied on some of the principles that DASH had devised, and expanded from there to create the PIVX ecosystem.

That being said, yes. We have heard it said that there are folks who are upset with DASH so they jumped into PIVX….or folks who are mad at PIVX because they feel it’s just something being done to spite DASH. Put it this way. You can have 10 eyewitnesses to an accident, and you’ll get 10 different stories about what “really” happened. It’s all perspective, right? So..since PIVX is a community coin, you will have a multitude of perspectives. The overwhelming feel and sense is that this is something in and of itself, focused on supporting, sustaining, and building an evolving crypto-community.

So can “we” compete? Well...that’s not our focus I can tell you that. If the essence of the question is “will we ever surpass DASH’s marketcap or value…”, well that remains to be seen. Again, this is not the focus or goal. If it happens as a by-product, that would be a true testament to the energy within this community.. If it doesn’t, it by no means that we were any less successful in our endeavors. I think within PIVX we all feel that “success” is defined differently by so many people, and within the cryptocurrency space, so much attention and energy is put on price or marketcap. We’re focusing a lot of energy on the culture of the community, of supporting those coming in...be it old time crypto heads or my mother’s aunt Gladice. We want them to feel like they...are home, and even if they don’t quite understand everything, that it’s ok, we get that, and we’re here to be of use.

What are the implications of a currency like PIVX going mainstream? Oi. There are a lot. From whose perspective are we talking about? Let’s start with the PIVX community.

It means that there is this amazing testament to the energy the community has poured into this endeavor. From a fledgling project, to a massively used “common-currency,” it would be one amazing outcome. So many friendships have been formed, and plans of future endeavors, that there is a sense you’d see another explosion of collaborative endeavors.

For the “public” it means there will be a FAST (I mean, blazing fast) common-currency that you can actually use at POS. BTC is taking upwards of 24hrs occasionally for confirms. That just doesn’t work well for an ecosystem of immediate sales. So that’s a plus to have a reliably (near instantaneous) fast transaction with your currency.

It also means that members of the public will have another means to pay and send funds outside the current traditional models.

It means that there has been a pretty profound shift in our economy. For a crypto to really go “mainstream,” it seems there would have to be a big change in public perceptions of what “money” is. That would be wildly amazing.

Why is a cryptoeconomy important? I feel like it’s the next evolution in transfer. We kinda went from exchanging goods, to using stones and other items as stores of wealth, to then issuing pieces of paper backed by said items, to then just printing

on paper….I think the curtains are being pulled back a little, and people are realizing not is all that it seems to be. Let’s face it, most people walking around if you ask them “what’s the value of $1 USD” you’ll get a myriad of answers. But most won’t know that that dollar isn’t really representative of anything (not gold or silver for that matter). Nor would they know that “the federal reserve” isn’t a branch of the government, but rather a private banking system. So why is a cryptoeconomy important? Its another step towards giving people their voice, their power, back. That might be scary to some, but we’ve had decades and centuries of replicating the same model over and over. What happens if that model we are seemingly trapped in is changed (Insert Star Trek Kobayashi Maru reference)?

So it’s important in that it provides a medium of change. Change of perspective. Change of power. Change of energy flow.

It also provides a means for individual countries or communities to establish their own ecosystems all on their own. You want to see rapid, organic, beautiful growth? Set people free. Give them space and the means and resources and skills to be fully free. Then watch what happens to the world.

So why is important? Because I believe it can be used a vehicle to disproportionately change the world in a positive manner.What excites you most about this movement? See above. You change the world, by being that change. PIVX is stepping into the limelight unabashedly proclaiming that.

Looking forward, what are some predictions you might have about the future of cryptocurrency? 5 years? Pretty impressive adoption and implementation into everyday use. Much simpler interfaces and methods to transmit wealth. Also, blockchain tech has become a revolutionary component to new tech embedded in some ecosystems.

10 years? Blockchain tech has replaced a fair amount of redundant and bloated infrastructures allowing for transparent data analysis and reporting. Intercrypto synergies and exchanges are established with real time transactional melds.

20 years? Cryptos as we know them have been replaced by another “improved” system of exchange….because when we allow for the start to occur now (and hit year 5/10) it means this next generation will have grown up in a much more expansive, embracing, and enlightening universe...and the rate of development and ingenuity will astound us all.

What are the most important things our readers can do to position themselves to take advantage of this coming shift into the cryptoeconomy? Ask questions. Read. Get into a trusted community. Read about central banking systems and how as a demographic we’ve been largely lied to and manipulated. But above all, to not be afraid. It might seem daunting. Change never feels easy - once you begin to peel back the layers though, you’ll see that the things you seem to attach to so heavily, are really just an illusion. Then go make your first buy or trade. And pat yourself on the back. You just took a HUGE step into freeing yourself and all of us. How? We’re all connected...so thank you preemptively, for that trust and confidence in your own power. Now let’s go rock this day together.
