Because Pittsford FCU believes you’re never too young to start making smart decisions about your money, we are

pleased to introduce newly-packaged youth accounts for members age 21 and under. There are three different account types specially designed for youth at every stage of their lives.

Our In The Money Kids Ac-count, for kids ages 10 and under, is a fun program for kids to learn

good savings habits at an early age. Mascots Dollar Bill and Sally Cents encourage kids to learn the benefits of saving for the future, spending wisely and sharing with others.

Texting tweens and teens know that “itm” stands for “in the money.” Our ITM Account, for youth ages

11-15, is a great program to help them move towards financial freedom and independence.

Our ITM Plus Account, for young adults ages 16-21, is perfect for older teens and young adults who

are managing greater financial responsibili-ties with jobs and/or college.

Celebrate with us and win!One benefit all youth accounts share is a

new special-rate “In The Money Certificate” (see details below). Members who open an In The Money Certificate from July 1 through Aug. 31, 2009, will automatically be entered to win one of three prizes. Prizes will be drawn for each type of account as follows:

Pittsford Federal Credit Union is doing our part to

help young people learn about entrepreneurship, business, and finance. PFCU joined forces with Junior Achievement to deliver its world-class “Company Program” in Barker Road and Calkins Road Middle Schools this year. More than 25 students participated in these after-school, year-long programs, which allowed students to form and operate an ac-tual company with the guidance of a business mentor.

Students had the opportunity to dis-cover how businesses function, while learning about the structure of the free enterprise system and its benefits.

They developed an under-standing of the economic prin-cipals that influence business decisions, gained an introduc-tion to career opportunities and work readiness skills and fostered positive relationships with members of the business community.

Perhaps just as critical, students spent time learn-ing about the philanthropic aspects of business, and PFCU is proud that a majority of the profits in both Company Programs have benefited local non-profits in our community.

PFCU would like to thank teachers Suzanne Graser of Barker Road and Nancy Wil-liams of Calkins Road, and

business mentor John Baker, President & CEO of ACC Business, for the many hours of sound business advice and mentoring throughout the school year.

Preparing young people for a successful future

a difference:Views that make

Ronald McDonald House support“Ham on white, with Swiss!

Turkey on wheat, with Provolone! I need an apple

for this order! More mayo, please!”For nearly a year, Pittsford FCU has

prepared and delivered a supply of 50 bagged lunches on a monthly basis for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Rochester, NY. The lunches go to the visit-ing families, whose children have traveled to Rochester to receive treatment for various child-hood diseases. Each lunch includes a sandwich, a piece of fruit, and a crunchy snack. In addition, we include an inspirational note to brighten each re-cipient’s day. Every month, up to six team members volunteer to assemble and deliver the lunches.

“We have undertaken this initiative to give back to the community in an area where we perceived there was a need,” said Member Service Center Manager Donna Burch, who helped establish the program. “Our plans are to donate the lunches on a monthly basis for the foreseeable future.”

Since we started this project almost a year ago, the cold cuts and condiments have been generously donated by the Mendon Meadows Market. Pittsford FCU is extremely appre-ciative of the Market’s support in our monthly effort to help the Ronald McDonald House.

For more information about the Ronald McDonald House Charities and their work in Rochester, visit them online at www.ronaldshouse.com.

Pittsford FCU is hosting an art-work exhibit from members of the Senior Art Class at Honeoye

Falls-Lima Central School. The exhibit is on display at the Mendon Branch

of the credit union from June 9 through July 8, 2009. The

exhibit was organized by HFL High School Art Teacher

Harold Coogan. Several different types of art

are represented, including sketches, several kinds of paint-ings, and both color and black and white photography.

A reception for the artists was held at the Men-don Branch on June 19, from 4 to 7 p.m.

Junior Achievement seeks to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy.
