Introduction to task…My task is to create a two minute film opening, combining all I have learned about the four technical codes, integrating that into my film, and keeping a detailed record all the way.

Roland Barthes believed that is some films and other narratives one action will lead to another, and this is where the story comes from. For example there is a murder, and the detective hunts them down. An enigma code on the other hand can be mysteries that drive a story forward. The audience watch to find out why things are happening.

Action and Enigma codes…

BACKGROUND

WANTED

For a crime

This is an example of an enigma code. If this is on a wall in the back round of a scene, and the camera focuses on it, the audience is wondering who he is, does he play a further part in the story?

The agent of change in a film or story is a character who is usually the main character and the protagonist. Someone who the story follows. Whatever situation hey I placed in, the story follows them, and whatever choices they make, changes the story specifically around them. The protagonist is the main character that the story is concentrating on the hero. The antagonist is the opponent and the hero’s enemy. The story will also concentrate on them, so we as the audience understand why the enemy is doing what he is doing.

Every movie or television show story contains three sections. The beginning is the equilibrium where everything is at a stage where everyone is safe, or perhaps they’re fighting in a battle only for the story to change. It is basically a situation in which there is a balance between different forces or aspects. the story change usually in the middle, or very close to the beginning is the disequilibrium. This is where the film changes and something be happens, or perhaps something good happens that will cause a problem that will finish at the end causing an equilibrium once more.
