SAT/ACT offer many different testing times during the year. Students should try to take the test more than once. Many colleges will take the best scores from the different tests to make what admissions offices call a super-score.

Students considering two-year schools should apply in time to begin school in the summer or fall after they graduate from high school.

Another way to get parents involved is to provide them with ideas and suggestion in how to create a culture of high expectations at home, school and community.

School: PTA, Volunteer, get to know your counselor, have lunch with your kid at least once a month

Home: Have a daily conversation about school with your child. Turn the television off at least 1 hr a day and have conversation about school with your child. Ask for their homework, help them or they can teach you.

Encourage parents to get involved in community activities. Such as volunteer At your church, join your neighborhood association or create one. Or participate at their community centers. We ask them to envision the type of community they want for their kids.
