On behalf of the DGNB, the German Sustainable Building Council, I would like to invite you to join us for a unique event. Before giving you the details, please allow me to briefly introduce ourselves. The DGNB is a non-governmental and non-profit organisation. Our mission is to collect and spread knowledge about designing, constructing, and managing our built environment in a sustainable way. Since its foundation in 2007, our association has attracted more than 1,100 companies from all sectors of the building industry as well as universities, municipalities and other associations, all of them working towards the same objective. From June 19–20, 2012, the DGNB is hosting two major events at the same time and at the same place: Consense and the World Green Building Congress. Consense is the DGNB’s major annual gathering, offering a wide range of lectures, workshops, exhibitions, and presentations on sustain ability in the built environment. Products, services, ideas, tools, certification schemes, questions of financing, facility management, and insurance – information on all of these issues can be found at Consense, an event open to our members and the general public alike. The World Green Building Congress addresses delegates from more than 90 countries as members of the World Green Building Council. It is the central gathering of a global community that wants to make a difference.By uniting these two events in 2012, the DGNB is offering a unique opportunity for the growing alliance of enthusiastic supporters of sustainability. Be part of this community and support our initiative! Enclosed you will find more detailed information on the opportunities available. From 18–20 June 2012, the world’s most influential green building leaders will be in one place – at the World Green Building Council’s Congress in Stuttgart, Germany, in conjunction with Consense 2012. The “who’s who” of the global green building industry will come together to discuss, debate and develop strategies to support the transformation of the world’s built environment. We invite you to take a lead role in supporting this gathering.Green building is one of the world’s growth industries – with more than half of global construction firms predicting they will be fully committed to green building by 2013. Europe currently holds the world’s most rapidly expanding green building market, and the WorldGBC’s Europe Network is capitalising on that growth.
