SOFIO RUKHADZE Hometown: Tbilisi, GeorgiaYear: Senior

At first I was not sure if it was worth it to come all the way from Georgia to study at LCC and invest so much money in my educaon. But sll I decided to take the risk, and since then I have never been happier because LCC showed me that it is worth every cent that I have paid for the past three years. I have had a chance to meet a lot of people from different countries, learn from the best professors and become more open-minded. I have developed my abilies as a leader by having different leadership posions. I also work for LCC’s Communicaons office, a job which has made it possible for me to have an experience in a field that I am interested in. I overcame the difficulty of paying tuion by going to the U.S during the summer and working there. I keep developing as a leader, a good communicator and a person thanks to LCC and my family, who have invested so much me and money in my educaon.

STEP 1 > BUILD A BUDGET The first step is to determine the total cost of your educaonal experience. Oen students only consider tuion and housing costs. Don't forget about living expenses and transportaon. Do you have other expenses that will connue while you are studying?

The two fixed costs at LCC Internaonal University are tuion and housing. Tuion for the 2020-2021 year is 3,180 EUR. If you would like to live in one of LCC's unique Residence Hall communies, LCC offers two housing opons on campus: Neumann Hall and Enns Hall. Housing costs are around 450 EUR per semester; however, the price might vary depending on the number of people in your room. Enns Hall is designed to hold primarily first year students. You should also consider the costs of your travel to get to LCC and any expenses for legal documents such as visa, TRP applicaon or insurance. The expenses for visa, TRP applicaon or insurance might range from 314 EUR to 382 EUR. For more details regarding visas, please contact the LCC Migraon Office at [email protected].

As a general clue of what the monthly expenses will be like, we usually give the following budget so you as an incoming student can beer esmate living expenses in Klaipeda:

STEP 2 > IDENTIFY FINANCIAL RESOURCES The second step is to brainstorm all of the possible financial resources you have available to you. We encourage you to first think of your personal resources. Will your family be able to help you? Do you have a job or can you find one? What about a bank or government loan? Bank loans are now available for students at many banks. In addion, governments and private organizaons offer programs that can help you meet your budget. The next two pages contain more details about opons you’ll want to consider.

LCC CAREER DEVELOPMENT CENTER

Most LCC students find employment during the academic year and the summer to help pay for their educaon. LCC’s Career Development Center (CDC) can assist you in finding employment both on and off campus. The Center serves as a link between you and potenal employers.

ON-CAMPUS EMPLOYMENT

LCC currently employs around 40 students on campus in various areas. Campus jobs are usually available for students coming from countries within the European Union. Most are for 10 to 25 hours a week in posions such as office assistants, receponists, and Michealsen Center assistants. Students who have applied for Financial Aid and have demonstrated need are given priority when hiring decisions are made.

OFF-CAMPUS EMPLOYMENT

LCC’s Career Development Center works with a number of companies and organizaons to locate jobs for current students. These jobs usually are tutors, administrators, translators, assistants, babysiers, housekeepers.

SUMMER JOBS

Summer opportunies can also include work/travel experiences in the USA and West Europe. Work and Travel programs offered by companies that partner with LCC provide students with an opportunity to spend the summer abroad while working and enjoying a new culture as well. Usually these programs require students to pay a certain program fee, but the students’ earnings over the summer then allow them to recover the fee as well as bring enough savings to pay for their tuion at LCC Internaonal University.

OPTIONS TO CONSIDER

Work and Travel USA: the most popular summer work exchange program for students. Parcipants work for up to 4 months for the US host companies/employers.

Aer I finished school in Ireland in 2016, I took a few gap years. During

those years I worked and gained a lot of life experience. I learned

independence and responsibility, which in my opinion, everyone should make an opportunity to

learn for themselves. Those years were crucial for me in

understanding how important it is to get a proper educaon. As I

considered studying again, I noced that tuion fees in Ireland are high, and I would not be able to pay the

cost alone. I connued searching and later discovered a school very

appealing to me -- LCC Internaonal University, a liberal arts university in

Lithuania. LCC offered a chance for me to come back to the country of

my birth and make something of myself. I am in my freshman year

and already love the LCC community, the campus and the faculty here. LCC offers a smaller

tuion cost and endless opportunies upon finishing my

studies.

Hometown: Vilnius, Lithuania Year: Sophomore

I cannot express my appreciaon for being given the opportunity to study at LCC Internaonal University. I had known about LCC for several years but had not applied to study here, as I could not afford the cost of a private university. A friend of mine, an LCC alumna, told me that LCC offered different opons to help with educa-onal costs and sponsored study programs. I was provided with applicaon informaon about the Government Study Spend and applied. When the inial response came back, the applicaon was denied. However, I did not give up. Many people were praying with me to receive these funds. Thanks to LAMA BPO (Associaon of Lithuanian Higher Educaon Instuons for Centralised Admissions), which allows an oppor-tunity to reapply, the second me was a success. I was awarded a Govern-ment Study Spend which covers the majority of tuion costs for all four years, as long as my grades stay on track. Addionally, LCC offered to cover the remaining tuion costs for me as a Government Scholarship recipient. My focus now is on my studies, which I truly enjoy. I am grateful for the funds provided through the Government Scholarship and from the generous donors who give to LCC Internaonal University.

DIADIUK YULIIAHometown: Dnipro, UkraineYear: Sophomore

LCC became a home away from home for me throughout my freshman year. This university provides various opportunies for personal growth within its innovave learning environment. The academic program at LCC helped me to recognize and use my personal strengths and learn to make improvements in my areas of weakness. Addionally, the liberal arts style of educaon teaches me to think more open-minded and smulates my crical thinking skills. I am even able to make me for socializing and work on leadership development while staying focused on academics. Being awarded the LCC President’s Leadership Scholarship and with the help of Student Financial Services I do not worry about tuion costs or finding summer work opportunies help to cover the costs of my educaon. LCC students have the opportunity to receive an elevated college experience while growing spiritually, personally and academically to achieve their highest potenal.

DID YOU KNOW THAT?As a non-profit instuon we spend all our revenue each year on providing a quality educaonal experience for our students. We do not make a profit.

The money you pay only covers half of the total cost of your educaon. Each year LCC Internaonal University generates approximately half of its operang budget from sources other than tuion. The majority of this funding comes from individuals and organizaons in Western Europe and North America.

The cost of LCC's buildings, furniture and technology has been enrely funded by external donaons. This assistance, which comes from organizaons and individuals in the USA, Canada and Western Europe, means that we do not pass these costs on to you as a student. The money you pay goes directly towards your educaonal costs alone: textbooks, library resources, student services, salaries, and campus operang costs.

The President of LCC makes personal visits and sends leers of appeal to current and potenal donors in order to ask them for donaons. Currently, we have many donors who give in a range of $20-400 a month and we also have a few who give above $50,000 a year. Most of our donaons come from our former and current board members as well as former and current faculty and staff. Alumni giving is becoming stronger each year. In addion, many donaons come from people who learn about LCC from the university's stakeholders and become passionate about its mission.

We recognize that financing your educaon can be challenging and we want to work with you to make LCC Internaonal University educaon possible for you. For more informaon or for answers to your quesons, contact our Admission Office staff.
