Oil and gas industry brings many benefits to today's
world. Without oil and gas, vehicles cannot move
from one place to another place. No gas, no food to
be cooked and enjoyed by men. Without oil and gas,
steel products, such as, plastics, chemical materials,
solvents and many more cannot be produced because
of the oil and gas are the raw material for all the
above products.
Therefore, oil and gas plays an important role in
human life. Society should have a deeper knowledge
of the technologies for oil and gas fields can be
appreciated that the quantity of oil and gas is
increasingly reduced.
Oil & Gas Conference and Technology Expo 2011
(OGTEC'11) is a new program introduced by the
SPE-UTM Student Chapter. As stated in the name of
the program, OGTEC'11 technology exhibition and
conference offers scientists. This program is aimed
specifically to promote and expand the scope of
students' knowledge about technology and the latestinformation on oil and gas Industry.
This program will also expose them to new
technologies related to oil and gas industry through
technology exhibition held. The latest information on
oil and gas industry is also available through the
conferences to be held. Hopefully, they can help
students and students become more familiar with this
industry and their respective targets in the future.
INTRODUCTION
Oil and Gas Technology Expo and Conference (OGTEC)
2011 is a new event organizing by the Society of
Petroleum Engineers (SPE) University of Technology
Malaysia-Student Chapter. It will be held from 22nd
– 24th
of November 2011 in UTM.
The theme of OGTEC 2011: BEYOND BOUNDARIES:
EMPOWERING TECHNOLOGY FOR
EXPLORATION AND PRODUCTION
REVOLUTION reflects what the oil and gas industry
needs today. The theme is introduced to open up the
minds of the university students and younger generation
about the latest technology and situation of the oil and gas
industry today. It is hoped to instil awareness among
them as to take the challenge beyond their boundaries, by
empowering the technology in exploration and
production. In this modernized era, energy resources for
instance, electricity, petroleum and solar are vital to
ensure that the newly invented technologies can be fully
utilized. Hence, it is everyone’s responsibility to educate
the new generation by creating the opportunity andmedium for the new generation to utilize their creativity
and critical thinking in generating new ideas in
technology especially in exploration and production field.
Everyone plays an important role in oil and gas industry,
and that’s why we want everyone to be part of us in this
event. As the director of OGTEC 2011, it is my honour
and pleasure to invite your organization to become the
sponsor for this event. We need strong support and
collaboration from your organization, to make OGTEC
2011 a huge, prestigious and successful event. We believe
such event will benefit all parties, whether students and
industry practitioners itself. This is an excellent way to
boost your company’sprofile with industry leaders,
professional and students who are the future leaders.
Please review the sponsorship opportunities in this
brochure to select your preferred item(s).
We look forward to your generous support and
participation in OGTEC 2011.
