We must better understand and embrace
“using” technology in our teaching and learning.
The personal iPad is revolutionizing how we live,
socialize, collaborate,
organize, access information,
and learn.
iPad implementations in public school
classrooms are sweeping across the country at an unprecedented rate.
The time for Adventist schools to embrace this revolution is
NOW…
…NOT when enrollments start to decline from students and parents choosing technologically advanced
alternatives…
…and Adventist teachers start
trying to
catch up.

Caldwell Adventist Elementary is proud to be part of the initiative.
Caldwell Adventist Elementary School is one of only 27 schools in Idaho to be awarded a grant through the J.A. and Kathryn Albertson Foundation’s Go On Schools initiative, aimed at resourcing and supporting Idaho schools who are committed to helping students Go On to education beyond high school. Fifty-two schools from across the state applied to be a Go On School.
Caldwell Adventist Elementary received $26,100 including approximately $15,000 designated for individual iPads and $3,000 for an
electrical engineering circuitry lab for students in 6th-8th grades. Teachers, students, parents, constituents, and board members are excited about the iPad implementation and planning ways to sustain the program after the initial grant period ends.
The iPads will be used for accessing interactive eTextbooks with the new Big Ideas Math series, Inkling forensic science apps, electrical
circuitry apps, TypingPal.com app, Career Information Systems (CIS) career planning program, eBook Language Arts, word processing, presentations, scientific calculators, personal organization, collaboration, and other innovative projects.
The J.A. and Kathryn Albertson Foundation is a private family foundation committed to the vision of a world-class education that prepares Idaho's citizens for the 21st Century and beyond. www.JKAF.org
