    Table of contents

  • Dear participants,

on behalf of the Czech Pharmaceutical Students Association, it is my utmost pleasure to welcome you in our beautiful capital, Prague - the city of a hundred spires - to be a part of the very first Triple E: IPSF TDC.

I remember my own journey starting with something quite similar - it was the year of 2014 and as a newly elected CzPSA execu-

tive member, I was given the opportunity to participate in Slovak-Polish-Czech Leadership Camp which is a traditional

project held by our three central European countries, and it was all devoted to developing our soft skills - we were trained by TRAINERs who changed my life and evoked my love for this aspect of life, used by us every single day and us not even realising it.

I am so happy that two years later, I get to contribute a bit by organising this event for you, so that you can become people just as inspiring as our excited trainers are.

I would therefore ask you to cherish this opportuni-ty youve been given, grasp it and never let go. Enjoy

it, learn as much as you can and do not give up when it gets tough during this week. The hard work you will put into

this event will pay off a thousand times and there will come a moment when you will stand in front of people and will help them

on their way in life. Nothing can feel more satisfactory than helping others, dont you think?

With this being said, live up to your own expectations and try your best. I will be there to help you all the time.

Hardships will be overcome and memories will be made.

  • Dear TDC participants,Dear friends,

It is with great pleasure to welcome you on behalf of the IPSF European Regi-onal Office (EuRO) to the beautiful city of Prague in Czech Republic and the European Region. A full week lies ahead of us; a week filled with trainings, workshops and knowledge, but also with a lot of fun, cultural programme and many new friendships! From the beginning of my involvement IPSF always gave and still gives me this special sort of family feeling led by the so called IPSF spirit. Currently the federati-on represents approximately 350000 pharmaceutical students and recent graduates in 70 countries, all working together to provide opportunities of personal development, bring the pharmacy profession further and give the next generation a voice to be heard! This year EuRO took the initiative and established the Triple E: European Experience of Excellence subsidiary gathering the IPSF professional develop-ment opportunities to bring them even closer to our members and all IPSFers. We are very happy that our member CzPSA, Czech Republic offered to host the first version of the Triple E: IPSF Trainers Development Camp this summer in Prague and we are thrilled to see so many of you being motivated to contri-bute to the IPSF aims by stepping up to becoming an IPSF trainer and learn how to deliver knowledge to your fellow global colleagues.I am certain you will not regret this decision and also gain a lot yourselves from this and future experiences within IPSF as trainers!Together we can achieve a lot of great things.

Students today Pharmacists tomorrow!Viva la IPSF! Viva la Pharmacie!

  • Greetings everyone.

I am very pleased to welcome you to the IPSF TDC - the first in the series of Triple E. With the motivation from the PD department, and support from the EuRO office, what you see is a result of much hard work of a lot of people

behind the scenes. And that hard work and collaboration is what most rightly represents the spirit of being a trainer.

A trainer is a person who is always ready to learn, and share that learning with her fellows. I wish you all a very interesting and

fruitful journey of discovering the trainer in you and start developing it through this TDC. The TDC is just your first

step and once you start delivering, get the taste of the thrill of seeing people learn, and being that facilitator of learning, I have a strong feeling you will never get out of it. Even if you do not deliver formally, these skills will go with you a long way, so make the best out of these 7 days, since these would be some of the most memorable days of your life.

    Bon Voyage!

  • Katarna SabolovHey dear participants! My name is Katarina, I am origi-nally from Slovakia, currently living and studying in the Czech Republic, in beautiful Prague. I study psychology (I am almost done with my studies, finishing my Master, busy

with my thesis). I have started with non-formal education and working with

groups in 2011, later on in 2013 I attended EFPSA summer school Train the Trainers in Malta, and offi-cially from 2014 I am EFPSA Trainer, from last year also EFPSA mentor. I love to work on personal deve-lopment, applying psychology into trainings. I am passionate about delivering trainings and facilitating workshops as I believe it provides the unique space for sharing experiences, inspirations and energy at the same time. I love travelling mostly because of facing new cultural aspects, being in multicultural envi-ronment & seeing different people with different faces, different stories and moreover I enjoy challenging and discovering intercultural secrets. Three very specific things about me - smile (love this interaction: You Smile, I Smile or otherwise I Smile, You Smile), movement (I love running, dancing and swimming) and lots of energy you will see.

There is a lot to say about the Czech Republic. Most of it you can trace on the Internet but there are some facts you might find more interesting than others.Czech people are often known as atheists but what is the truth? According to the census 7% of the population are believers without belonging to any church, 14% are believers belonging to the church, 34% have no religious faith and 45% did not respond.

Because we are all pharmacists, it is necessary to mention achievements in the field of science. Otto Wichterle, nobel prize winner, invented not only contact lenses but also a polyamide fiber Silon. Antonn Hol and his team invented Truvada (anti-AIDS drug) and Hepsera (unique drug against hepa-titis B). Czechs also managed to develop technologies for industrial production of nanofibers that are approximately a thousand times thinner than a human hair.

In 2005 there was a poll called Greatest Czech. One of the persons with the most votes was Jra Cimrman, patriot, playwright, poet, musician, teacher, zoologist, traveler, philosopher, inventor, criminalist and athlete of his time. However the creators of the poll decided to disqualify him because he is a fictional character and eventually the first person in the poll was Charles IV (Czech emperator).

The first sobering station was established in Prague in 1951 and its first client was a russian naval engineer. The price for one night there varies from 30 to 400 EUR.

In conclusion it must be said that Czechs were the first nation that could hold the position in the ranking of the most popular nations in Poland in 2013 for the third time. Maybe it is because the Czechoslovakian and Polish flag were the same until 1920, maybe because the Poles love our friendly nature or maybe because they are making fun of us. Anyways, thank you Poles!

  • One of the most interesting things about travelling is discovering foreign cuisi-nes and I suppose you are curious about the typical Czech cuisine.

The truth is that typical Czech meals are not very healthy. They are rich in meat and fats and do not include a lot of vegetables. Nowadays the situation is better, because the influence of foreign countries (and doctors and dietiti-ans) is huge. It is related mainly with German and Austrian cuisine. The Czech Republic is an inland country with colder climate, so the basis for its gastronomy was always raw materials that could be grown there, especially grains, pulses, potatoes and meat pork, beef, poultry, rabbit and venison.

A typical Czech meal starts with soup. There is a wide variety of them, for instance vegetable soup, broth, soup with liver dumplings and noodles and so on. The second course is usually meat with a side dish like potatoes or pasta. The speciality of Czech cuisine is dumplings - our national cuisine is not imagi-nable without roll or potato dumplings, which are served with sauce. Sauces are a phenomenon in Czech cuisine. They are mainly made of cream with butter, milk and flour. In my opinion, one of the best and most delicious Czech meals is sirloin in a cream sauce with dumplings, often served with whipped cream and cranberries and, of course, the great pork schnitzels with potatoes. As a main course, fish like carp or trout with potatoes can also be served often. Also, fried carp with potato salad and fish soup must not be missing at the Christmas Eve table. Sweet dishes such as pancakes or stuffed cakes with fruit are also common here. It is not that unusual to serve them as a main meal. What about drinks? It is great to have something good and refreshing to drink after delicious meal like those. The Czech nation is famous for its beer consumption, which is one of the highest in the world. I leave it up to you to assess whether it is something we can be proud of or not, but it is really hard not to drink beer, because ours is great. We have small and big breweries and everyone can find their favourite one. The most famous is the Pilsner Urquell and Budweiser Budvar. Believe me, you are going to love Czech beer!

Thanks to the warm climate of southern Moravia, the cultivation of wine is possible. The most popular are white wines. We also make alcoholic drinks from fruits, mostly from plums and apricots. Their advantage - they rarely cause hangovers (and in case of emergency they are an excellent disinfector). A popu-lar souvenir for visitors to the Czech Republic is often the bitter herb liqueur, Becherovka, which comes from the spa town of Karlovy Vary.

  • Prague, so called the City of a Hundred Spires, is the beautiful capital and largest city in the Czech Republic. It is situated in Bohemia, in the north-west of the country on the Vltava River. About 1.2 million citizens live there.

Prague has a rich history. It has been the political, cultural and economic centre of central Europe since it was founded, approximately 1100 years ago. Prague was the seat of the Czech kings, also the capital of the Holy Roman Empire, an important city to the Habsburg Monarchy and after World War I, became the capital of Czechoslovakia. The city played major roles during both World Wars and the post-war Communist era. In 1993, after separation of Czechoslovakia, Prague became the capital of the Czech Republic.

In Prague there are many famous historical sightseeing such as the Prague Castle, the Charles Bridge, Old Town Square, Wenceslas square, Vyehrad, the Jewish Quarter, the Lennon Wall and Petn hill. The historic centre of Prague has been included in the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites since 1992. In the city you can visit major museums, along with numerous theatres, galle-ries, cinemas and other historical exhibits. Prague is also home to a wide range of public and private schools, including Charles University, the mother of our Faculty of Pharmacy located in Hradec Krlov.

Prague is considered as a popular tourist destination, it receives more than 4.4 million international visitors annually.
