Iraq War

American Causalities
• According to antiwar.com there have been 4,427 Americans killed and 32,900 Americans wounded.
Iraqi Causalities
• According to Iraqbodycount.org there have been between 98,585-107,594 civilians killed since the start of the war.
Cost of War
• www.costofwar.com says that the total cost of the war since 2001 has cost $1.1 trillion this number does not include the expected medical care cost for war veterans.
• The projected total cost of veteran’s health care is $422-$717 billion dollars.
Current Iraq Gov’t
• Iraq currently has a Parliamentary Democracy.• The government has an executive branch
which consists of a Presidency Council• Has a Judicial Branch with a Supreme Court• It also has a Legislative Branch called the
Council of Representatives and it has 325 members.
Iraqi Military
• As of July 2009, the Iraqi Army had 17 divisions, containing 56 brigades or 185 combat battalions.
Abu Gharib
• Revealed in the Taguba Report US soldiers abused and tortured Iraqi detainees in the Abu Gharib prison.
• It included rape, beating and taking photos of the naked inmates.
