Nu Flow’s unique nondestructive pipe lining technology was the solution the customer was looking for. Our international partner, Nu Flow Ireland, rehabilitated a failing rainwater pipe underneath a popular stadium at a fraction of the cost and time a traditional repipe would have taken. Project: Use Nu Main to rehabilitate the rainwater pipe without the need to shut down the stadium. Customer: J. Sisk & Sons Ltd., a member of the SISK Group and an international construction company. Site: The Aviva Stadium in Dublin, Ireland, which reponed its doors on May 14, 2010. With more than 51,000 seats, it is the third largest stadium in Ireland. The original stadium (1872-2006) was the oldest rugby union ground worldwide and oldest sports stadium in Europe. System: A 14” HDPE rainwater pipe that is a main outlet for rainwater off the stands with very difficult access. Problem: The rainwater pipe had problematic joints causing blockages, back-ups and leaks. The customer wanted to avoid cutting out and replacing the pipe. Circumvention: If the customer had chosen a traditional repipe, the busy stadium would have to be shut down in order to fix the problematic areas, since the pipe ran under the main stadium and into the electrical supply room. Solution: Nu Flow gained access above the electrical room and was able to clean and fully reline the problematic area within the pipe using a custom made Nu Main liner. Nu Flow’s technicians carried out the rehabilitation, saving the requirement of a costly shutdown or repipe. The customer was pleased to have found Nu Flow’s pipe rehabilitation solution that fixed the problem in a fraction of the time, cost and disruption to a tradition repair. “When we first came across this issue, our main fear was for the electric supply room which distributes all power to the areas required within the stadium. Also, being such a busy stadium for sports and conferences, logistically to try and cut out and replace this pipe was a major problem. Thankfully we came across Nu Flow and with their knowledge and expertise, a solution was found and concluded at a fraction of time, costs and disruption.” - Sean Farrell, Building Services Engineer, J.
