CITARIK RIVER

• A pool and drop class III-IV river.

• The water comes from Mt Halimun National Park.

• The volume of the water becomes high during rainy season (October to April)

• There are some alternative routes which can be used during dry sesaon.

• The water is warm with temperature of 20-28°C.

• There are some accesses to put in and take out along the river.

• The terrain surrounding the river is jungle and paddy fields.

• Safety team members consist of the 80 rafting guides from tour operators who have experiences more than 10 years. They will use rafting boat and kayak, and will stand by along the river.

• There are some entry points along the river to media and spectator by car 2x4 or 4x4 or motorcycle or by walk.

• Slalom course is exactly in front of the accommodation area.

Start and Finish point

RACES

Sprint , Head to Head and Slalom will be in class III rapids. The area is along the village and rafting operators camp. There aretrucks to transport participants to put in point. From put in, participants should paddle around 2 minutes to start point.

For Open & Master Divisions, Down River Race will be in pool and drop class III rapid in first 4 km and continue with some continuous rapid where four big and technical class III – IV+ rapids in next 5 km. There are 24 rapids within 11 km DRR Section.

For Youth & Junior Divisions, there is a class III rapid in Upper Section.

There are some access to go to each rapid, 2 of them can reach by car, and the rest by motorcycle or walk.

We will provide electronic timing systemfrom Netherland.

Back up timing system will be always used since we have many volunteers to do this.

TRAVEL AND TRANSPORT

In Citarik River, only Down River Section/Start or Finish Point need transportation. The rest can be reached by walk.Organizer will provide trucks for Down River Race, Opening and Closing ceremony.

Soekarno Hatta International Airport (Cengkareng) is the nearest airport to go to Citarik River. This is the biggest airport in Indonesia and there are many airlines from all over the world using the airport.From airport, the participants can go directly by land transportation to Citarik River, it will take 3-4 hours, depends on the traffic.Organizer will pick up all team members, media , spectators registered from airport and transported to Camp.

All participants can choose one of accommodation which offered by organizer.

There are some type of accommodation like: camping ground (simple tents), luxurious tents, traditional cottages or rooms.

Accommodation fee is include of 3 meals and snacks.

Breakfast will served with international standar buffet.

CEREMONIES

• There will be some ceremonies:

1. Opening Ceremony

2. Youth & Junior WRC Closing Ceremony

3. Open & Master WRC Closing Ceremony

• Opening Ceremony will be arrange by Tourism Department and Local Government, with traditional dances, bamboo music entertainment etc. The venue is in Palabuhanratu town.

• Closing ceremony will be unformal in a party format. For Open & Master will be in Palabuhanratu beach.

• Prize giving will arrange on every race day in Hall A Caldera Adventure.

• Indonesia traditional dances and attractions will show every night to entertain all participant and officials.

STAFF PROVISIONS

• Organizer will provide accommodation, meals and transport and working conditions that will be provided for the 3 members of the Jury, and the 12 Official Judges. For 3 Jury members with transportation to and fro their country.

• Organizer will provide all of the staff needed for the event (IRF BOD, Safety Director, Race Director, Timekeeper, and all crew).

• Organiser will recruit volunteers to assist IRF judges and officials during the event.

COMMUNICATIONS

• The communication in local area will usingVHF band to cover all communication system.

• Indonesia Marine Corps will be in charge to build communication system with some staff for charging and maintenance all handy talkie.

• In the area the mobile phone can use for international calls.

• Internet only available in Headquater and some accommodation area .

• Cellular phone available from some telecommunication operators:

MEDIA COVERAGE &

PROMOTING EVENT

• Some TVs and media in Indonesia willcoverage the event.

• Organizer will accommodate some important media with Press Room equiped by computer and internet facilities.

• The daily Press Release every day.

• Promotion will be by some print media in racing and accommodation area, in some big cities around (Jakarta, Bogor, Sukabumi, Palabuhanratu), and talk show in radios and TVs.

• The merchandise and souvenirs will sell by trader and souvenir shop around the area

Safety & Security

• There are 80 experience guides (more than 10 years experience) who will become rescue team by rafts and kayak.

• Hospital is 30 minutes from Citarik River but there are clinic around the area.

• Organizer will provide ambulance, doctor and paramedic. Marine Corps will built Field Hospital in the race venue.

• All team members will be required to obtain their travel insurances.

The Entry fee is:

IDR 350.000 / IDR325.000* per participant.

The Entry Fee is include: t-shirt, shuttle to and fro airport, DRR section and ceremony point, welcome and farewell dinner.

The cost for training prior to event:

IDR 520.000 / day (rafting equipment & guide),

Extra cost IDR 200.000 for transportation from finish point in DRR section (Open & Master) and to start point (Youth & Junior).

Organiser will provide antidopping test facility for some participant choose by IRF / Jury.

Citarik is an tourism object of Sukabumi, there are some adventure resort build around this area.

Half an hour from Citarik there is another tourism object, Palabuhanratu Beach.
