The TÜV Rheinland Certificate According to IRIS- new international certification standard in the railway vehicle industry

IRIS (International Railway Industry Standard), an initiative led by the Association of European Railway Industry (UNIFE),

is based on the internationally recognized quality standard ISO 9001. It is specific to the railway industry, designed for

the evaluation of management systems. The underlying aim of IRIS is to improve the quality and reliability of rolling

stock produced, by improving the whole supply chain. It is widely supported across Europe by system integrators and

equipment manufacturers such as Bombardier, Siemens, Alstom and AnsaldoBreda.

In future IRIS will be accepted as evidence when approving suppliers in the railway vehicle industry, replacing

individual evaluation. IRIS can be applied to all direct and indirect ancillary industries (such as manufacturers of system

construction parts and individual components), operators as well as manufacturers of rail-mounted vehicles.

TÜV Rheinland is one the first three approved certification companies empowered to conduct appraisals under IRIS. Our

team of expert, domain-specific auditors will support you throughout the certification process. We have already worked

with KONKAN Railways providing them with our assessment services for Anti Collision Device (ACD) System. We have

also assessed the Level Maturity for Safe Application of the SKY BUS Metro System Concept and conducted a workshop
