ISC40G(S) with external temperature sensorTo get a more stable and faster reacting temperature reading, Insatech have designed a small solution with a termowell welded to the clamp. This ensures that temperature sensor is placed close to the conductivity measurement without inf luencing the measurement.

Test of the temperature measurement.

Calibration set up.
First the PT1000 was placed in the thermowell of the fitting and calibrated. The fitting was immersed in to the bath until the underside of the tri-flange had contact with the water in the bath.
After the test where the temperature element was placed in the thermowell of the fitting, the element was calibrated directly in the bath. To prevent damage,of the sensor the top was 1-2 mm above the water level during the calibration.

Conclusion:The temperatur measurement is ok when the element is calibrated in the thermowell; but if calibrated directly in a bath with some of its metal exposed to ambient temperature the measurement is suffering under stam loss.So the element has to be calibrated in a well.

Calibration set up:
The tri-flange with the ISC40 is placed in a pipe. Calibration media is then pumpedthrough the pipe and the reference. When stable both values are noted.

The sensor is facing the same way during all tests.
The measurements are done with-out temperature compensation.

Conclusion
Now what does the numbers and graph shows?
First- in the low region the IF factor seems to be diffrent compaired to the higher conductivity range.
Secondly- The thermowell seems not to influence the conductivity measurement. The difference in calibration curves are probably due to uncertainties in the determination
