Customer Challenge: In need of a sensor with independent voltage outputs, with measurements proportional to the force applied, on two axes. SMD Sensor Solution: Strain Measurement Devices provided the customer with a M200 dual axis load cell, which uses sputtered thin film strain gauge technology to create a compact, rugged sensors with exceptional long-term stability. The sensor can measure both the X and Y axes on a probe, with the outputs translated into tactile feedback signals through software.
