BATFORCE MEETINGS
There will only be four BATForce Network Meetings in 2016. The first meeting for 2016 will be held on
Thursday February 4th from 10 am until 12 noon. Our first host for 2016 is Centrelink.
Other dates to note are April 7th, July 21st and October 6th. Also the AGM is on September 1st.

JANUARY
Celebrate Australia Day at Rippleside Park with over 40 free activities and displays for families and
children to enjoy. There will be stage entertainment all day long with roving entertainers including
Dame Edna Average with give away’s and Dazzling Dan with his magic show and music by Geelong's
own The MikMaks and lots more.

The Role The role of the Client Services Manager – Geelong, a maternity leave position to commence in the last week of April 2016, will require you to work autonomously to create, build and service the portfolio for the region. Along with your strong business development skills, you should have industry experience and be well networked throughout the region. Proven experience in a customer driven/service oriented environment is absolutely essential. Strong relationship management and networking skills are most integral to the success of this position. Responsibilities include the following;
Business Development – initiating and building strong industry contacts for referral purposes; Developing the CareChoice brand
Intake & Response – Being the first point of contact for new clients from initial phone call, meeting through to implementation of services
Interviewing of Direct Support Staff
Ensure effective implementation of services
Writing and reviewing Client Support Plans
Overseeing the delivery of care to clients
Liaising with the Care Coordination and Recruitment Team to ensure effective service delivery
Networking and promotions
You will be persistent with a never give up attitude, with strong attention to detail. You love to celebrate achievements, and want to work in a company environment that is flexible, reliable and responsive to customer needs. Your strong work ethic and commitment to working in, and contributing in a professional team environment will make you the stand out for this position. The Western Victoria PHN is focussed on working with health service providers, users and communities to
develop and improve access to the right primary health services, in the right place, at the right time. As
part of this process, we are conducting our 2016-17 Population Health Planning Needs Assessment,
collecting and collating information to identify systems and service development priorities, building on our
previous work and knowledge.
The Needs Assessment is our roadmap regarding what primary healthcare our region needs. We will
develop it collaboratively with local health organisations and community groups, bringing together the
expertise to develop a shared understanding of what’s really needed.
Our success depends on a collective effort to ensure better health outcomes for all communities in our
region. As a valued stakeholder in the Western Victoria PHN region, please join us to provide initial input
into our 2016 -17 Needs Assessment.
This is your opportunity to have your say! Please join us and make a positive difference to the region’s

FIGHTING FAIR: DIFFICULT BUT NECESSARY CONVERSATIONS
MELBOURNE: March 10, 2016 at Mantra Southbank
This 1 day workshop will assist managers/ workers/ staff to understand and demonstrate the skills, techniques and
model in having difficult but necessary conversations. The difficult conversation in the workplace will be necessary for
the manager with employees, between colleagues and with clients or students. It is also applicable for challenging
interpersonal conversations. This course will explore the difficult conversation utilising the Harvard Negotiation Project
model.
EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE (EI) IN THE WORKPLACE

This 1 day workshop will assist managers, team leaders and team members to develop insight and awareness of their
own and others’ emotions (behaviours, moods, reactions) to intentionally improve individual, team and organisational
