FRANK CHESTER SENIOR CENTER

This week we held our Christmas covered dish with our Red Hat Group. Staff decorated the art room with glass vases with Christmas bulbs to give the room a festive look. We played Christmas music in the background while we ate. After lunch we discussed plans for our January meeting and then we took a quick group photo before everyone headed out the door. It’s hard to believe another year is almost gone, as we’ve had so many good times together and enjoyed all the fellow-ship that goes along with it!

Our next get together was our exercise class breakfast. Every Christmas staff prepares a breakfast of some sort, as thank – you for all of their dedication and hard work they do in our classes all year long. These seniors get up three times a week and head to the center for a forty-five-minute workout. They have committed themselves to lead healthier lives by exercising regularly and watching their diet. After some fun games and Christmas carols, we gave out some door prizes and called it a morning.

GALLOPS SENIOR CENTER

This week we were busy here at the center. Our crocheting class finished their yearlong project making of throws to give away to the needy. They produced over 200 items. They welcome anyone interested in crocheting to come and be a part of this great team! They meet on Mondays at 1 P.M.

Thank YOU Ladies!

This week we held our 1st Christmas billiards tournament. Everyone enjoyed the friendly competition.

COMMUNITY SCHOOLS

Highlighting our Book Club In After School

Programs

Our book club helps children develop important language skills. Book discussions and activities help children practice turn-taking, encourage them to use language to analyze, make predictions and solve problems, and provide them with opportunities to try out new vocabulary words. Simply by reading and participating in discussions themselves, parents can provide important language and literacy models for their children.
