The vehicle compartment remained stable during the frontal offset test. The dummies’ data showed the tested vehicle provided adequate protection to both the driver and passenger‘s chests. There was also marginal protection to the driver’s right knee.
The performance of HPT was confirmed with additional deployment test and its score was determined based on Fitment Rating System (FRS).

ASEAN NCAP first assessed the Isuzu MU-X on its 2016 model in which it received 4-Star rating for both the AOP and COP categories. The model’s assessment result was extended from the Isuzu D-MAX’s crash test result which ASEAN NCAP performed in 2014. For the MU-X’s assessment in 2020, ASEAN NCAP is extending the Isuzu D-MAX’s AOP result that was tested in January 2020 to the SUV. This is based on the technical evidences provided by Isuzu which shows the MU-X platform has similar crashworthiness structure and restraint system as the tested D-MAX. The 7-seater SUV is equipped with 2 airbags as standard fitment together with ABS and ESC across all its variants. SBR for driver, front and rear passengers come as standard in the Thailand and other available country markets. Other technologies namely AEB City, Inter-Urban, VRU, LDW and FCW systems are offered either as standard or optional fitment in all the available countries in South East Asia. With the overall score of 86.81 points, the Isuzu MU-X is eligible for 5-Star ASEAN NCAP rating.

BLIND SPOT TECHNOLOGY ASSESSMENT
Since 2017, ASEAN NCAP has introduced Blind Spot Technology (BST) in its new protocol. In this protocol, ASEAN NCAP assessed the functionality of each BST introduced inside the vehicle. The BST is offered as an optional equipment on both sides of the Isuzu M-UX in all its marketed countries in South East Asia. In this assessment, ASEAN NCAP confirms that the technology has functioned according to ASEAN NCAP requirements on both the left and right side area of the vehicle.
