“Therefore, just as one man's trespass led to condemnation for all, so one man's act of righteousness leads to justification and life for all.” It is clear, we are all lost. If we have a belief backed up by solid evidence, it is that we are fallen. We fell together, as a species, as a family. The fall broke us apart. Men and women are not good to one another. But we are meant to be together. From the beginning, the Father created us as a family. Paul promises that we are also saved together as a family. Jesus’ cross “leads to justification and life for all.” Our God’s love, the love of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, cannot be defeated. Jesus brings life to all. Through the month of March, we will look at Paul’s letter to the Romans as Sunday’s epistle reading. Dig into those Scriptures on your own and share with me what you find. There is no Wednesday Evening Bible Study during Lent. We will gather for Soup Supper at 5:30pm and Holden Evening Prayer at 6:00pm for this holy season of meditation and repentance. We are gathering opinions on what to do with our parsonage. Let your voice be heard. We value what you have to say. You can fill out an opinion slip in the narthex and leave it in the red canister. I will then compile all the contributions and put together a report for the church. All opinions will remain anonymous. At Luther Seminary in February, I was able to take a class on the love language of Paul. The mystics write of their love for God in intimate ways. Song of Solomon is a book of the Bible we do not often read. It is full of images that make us blush. Mystics read the Song as a story about the soul’s union with God. Paul writes about the love of Jesus in a similar way: Jesus loses Himself in love for us. He is emptied by His love for us. Are we overwhelmed with passion for God? Will we lose ourselves in the love of Jesus? Welcome and thank you to Roseann Poisson. She is our newest Council member. My sermons are all posted online at www.gracesouthrange.com/sermons/ and on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/user/cavalerima. If you miss us on Sunday, you can still read or listen to the preaching of the Word. There is a bin for comments on my sermons in the library. All of your insights are appreciated. Thanks to everyone who has contributed. Your reflections are a great help to me. Do you have dreams for our church? Have you had an idea you wish you could try out on our congregation? Talk to me. Grace is your church. Let’s make it what you need it to be. As always, I am here for you and want to hear from you. Drop by my office, grab me after church or stop me at Walmart… I look forward to talking with you. With faith and hope and love, Micah

PASTA FEST RECAP

The first ever Pasta Fest was held on Sunday, February 23rd, a sunny and warm day. Approximately 83 people were served and a grand total of $1,164.00 donated. This will be used to help replenish the funds used to replace the roof on the church in 2019. Currently $14,148.00 has been donated. The total cost of the new roof was $28,000.00. When you see the log cabin at fellowship, any donations put will go towards this effort.

Approximately 25 people worked various shifts at the church on Saturday & Sunday, preparing the meal and setting up, or with clean-up afterward. Most of the volunteers were from our church family, but we had a few community members, who are like an extension of our church. Countless people donated items for the Pasta Fest and/or baked desserts. Some gave money and some gave time. The committee didn’t spend any church funds on food, which was fantastic.

The Pasta Fest couldn’t have been pulled off without many pitching in, making the work light. We were certainly blessed and we could feel it. We hope that everyone in attendance enjoyed the food and fellowship!

Thank you, one and all, for your time and generosity. Especially we would to like to thank Ron, Andrew and Reese Stewart for helping us prepare and serve the meal. Ron has many years of experience working as a chef and we appreciate his service very much.
