Our history

Dal Ben S.p.A. was founded in 1987. Since then we been growing continuously, facing the ever new requirements of our Customers, demonstrating quality and professionalism in our acts. But we have not lost sight the value of the person, the first and foremost element of comparison, stimulating us to grow and measure ourselves with the ever new requirements of an ever changing market.

Throughout the years, we have been able to adapt ourselves to the demands of a more widespread market, realizing investments in infrastructures and human resources with the final goal of satisfying the customer with a high quality level.

We believe that Dal Ben S.p.A. represents a shining example of the productive reality of the North-East of Italy that has founded its success not on miracles, but on ability, commitment and tenacity.

Challenge for the future

Dal Ben S.p.A. designs and manufactures machinery and equipment for the mechanical engineering industry in general. It is equipped with the best machines for production of advanced quality and quantity.

As pointed out by the production capacity achieved, it is able to provide machines and complete plants of all the auxiliary services and to deliver them to the Customer “turnkey”.

The activity of Dal Ben S.p.A. is articulated in various productive sectors:

• Design and construction of mechanical groups;

• Design and construction of hydraulic equipments (valves, joints, etc.) for hydraulic and hydroelectric plants;

• Manufacturing and welding of metallic carpentry made of carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy steel and weld cladding;

• Manufacturing of carbon steel and titanium stainless steel piping;

• Precision mechanical working with tool - machines;

• Assembling of groups, machines and systems.

Dal Ben S.p.A. covers an area of 16.000 m2 and is divided into five plants:the material incoming shop, the fabrication bay, the machining department, the piping dept. and the assembly bay, where more than hundred experts work.

The structure of our departments is not set for single use, but has taken shape over the years, answering the daily needs of our various Customers. This is possible thanks to effective teamwork that enhances the professionalism and competence of our staff and is focused on the main goal: Customer satisfaction.

Lifting equipment supporting up to 50 tons and tools machines able to carry out the manufacturing of important details put us in the favorable condition of guaranteeing the Customer a complete cycle of production - cutting, carpentry, welding, machining, painting, final assembling, test and packing, all without third party assistance.

The Dal Ben S.p.A. technical personnel is capable of developing projects from studies and/or customer — provided details.All this in order to supply the Customers with a product that satisfies contractual requirement and respects the following rules of reference UNI EN ISO 9001 : 2015, UNI EN ISO 3834-2 : 2005, EN 1090-2 : 2008 + A1:2011 ex C3, and EN 15085-2.

The software used for design realization, all 3D, are Solidwork and Autocad-lnventor, which interfaces with similar systems used by our customers, and CAM for numerically controlled machining. The Bill of materials and components lists are managed with a programmed Access Database.

Production Departments

Our technical office

The machining workshop, extended on a surface of 5000 m2, is equipped with modern and efficient tool-machines, consisting exclusively of numerical control units (CNC) and characterized by high precision and speed.

Our machines are medium-large dimensions, so we can work also the more complex and important parts up to a length of 14 meters.

For the programming we use the last generation CAD-CAM systems, which interface with the languages of all our machines and give us the maximum flexibility in the work planning.

In order to ensure the best quality and fulfill the customer’s requirements, the company has the following welding procedures:

Our company is specialized in the manufacturing and welding of metallic carpentries made of carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy steel and in the execution of weld cladding.

The importance given by Dal Ben S.p.A. to the special welding processes is evidenced by the fact that the company has required and obtained the following certificates:

Gas Metal Arc Welding (MIG/MAG) - GMAWSubmerged Arc Welding - SAWShielded Metal Arc Welding - SMAWGas Tungsten Arc Welding (TIG) - GTAW

Welders and welding procedures are qualified in compliance with the requirements of UNI EN 9606-1:2013 and UNI EN ISO 15614-1:2012 and 15609-1, by the Italian Institute for Welding (IIS) and the Classification Society RINA.

Specialists performing non-destructive testing, especially visual test , magnetic tests, penetration tests, ultrasonic test and radiographic testing, have qualification according to norm EN ISO 9712 and to recommendations of ASNT SNT-TC-1A with approval for the PED.

Machining Department

The company is specialized in the manufacturing of pipes and complete fluid systems, made of carbon steel or titanium stainless steel, with full penetration welding on tubes of any dimension and thickness.

The plant is fully equipped for the preparation of the chamfers, the bending and the welding with automatic or manual equipments. We execute non-destructive testing on the wildings like VT, PT, MT, UT and RX, with relative certificates, and pressure tests up to 1000 bars.

Our welders and procedures WPS and WPQR have been qualified and tested by the certification agencies and the entire workshop operates according to the specific quality system for welding ISO 3834-2: 2005 and EN 1090-2:2008.

Our technicians and assemblers are qualified to perform any type of planned operation connected with the assembling (setting up with dimensional accuracy, forced coupling, gauging, cryogenic coupling) and if it is required the machines are completed with the following installations: pneumatic system, hydraulic system, electrical wiring, cooling system, lubricating system with respective tests.

The department is also equipped to perform dimensional and functional tests with appropriate equipment such as three-dimensional laser tracker, hydraulic power pack up to 1000 bar, NAS3 filtering unit, water power pack up to 300 bar, electrical panel for powering engines and voltage of 24/110V for controlling solenoid valves.

Dal Ben S.p.A. considered necessary to establish internal Quality Management System according to the requirements stipulated by UNI EN ISO 9001:2015 and obtain relevant certification in order to improve its organizational structure and activities as also to meet contractual, statutory and regulatory requirements and expectations of its customers.

The importance given by Dal Ben S.p.A. to the special welding processes is evidenced by the fact that the company has required and obtained the following certificates:

Quality and Certifications

Our Products

Our equipments are engineered nearly exclusively in our office. Each part is designed for its specific use, according to Customer requirements and project specifications. On the base of these informations, we select the suitable solutions, according to high quality and safety standards. Generally our products are made of welded carbon steel with parts in stainless steel.For specific requirements (e.g. seawater) we use different materials (e.g. Duplex or Superduplex steel) and apply particular corrosion protections, for example by mean of rubber or ebonite coating, more efficient than the common epoxy and poliuretanic paint.The manufacturing is made in our workshops in San Stino di Livenza (Venice - Italy) and the Customer can follow each step of the production, starting from the raw material receipt, till the final inspection and the shipment.

Safety/Overspeed Butterfly Valve with Lever and Counterweight

The Butterfly Valve, usually double-flanged, is adopted to intercept the fluid in pipelines with medium and big diameter, both for open/close or flow adjustment operations.

The double-flanged butterfly valve, unless otherwise requested, is designed with double excentricity to make esier the perfect closing. The operation can be done manually with a gearbox provided with handwheel or can be done with an electic or pneumatic servo system.

The plunger flow control valve - also known as needle valve - is adopted for the adjustment of the water flow inside the pipeline. The flow control is made by the axial movement of the plunger, which has a calculated shape to reduce at the minimum the pressure loss and the vibrations in the pipeline.The movement of this valve can be done manually (by mean of a gearbox with handwheel) or with an electic actuator (which can be On-Off or continuos) or with an hydraulic cylinder which can open/close or just open (in this case a counterweight will close).

The safety/overspeed butterfly valve is usually adopted in the hydroelectric power plants, to protect the turbine.

The valve is kept normally open with the hydraulic cylinder under pressure; only in case of emergency (for example in case of too high fluid speed) the pressure of the hydraulic system will be reduced, so that the valve will be closed quickly, by means of its counterweight.

In this situation, the hydraulic cylinder has a braking function during the valve closing and then it gives the necessary force to open again the valve, when the pressure of the system will be again increased by hydraulic oil unit.

Air-Release Valve

This type of drain valve, also named Howell-Bunger, is usually adopted for the bottom drainage of the dams, so that the power given by the hydraulic pressure can be dissipated.In most cases, to protect the area around the drainage, the valve is equipped with a steel cone, which contains the water flow.

The dismantling joint is usually installed in the pipeline to allow - thanks to its telescopic movement - the assembly and disassembly of the other hydraulic equipments.The expansion joint has the additional purpose to compensate the elongation of the pipeline, usually due to the filling and emptying with fluid or due to the temperature changes at which the pipeline is working.

The air-release valve has the purpose to optimize the water flow inside the pipeline, because it prevents the presence of air and therefore reduces the turbulence which could damage the other hydraulic devices and the pipeline itself.This valve can even have a triple function: get out the air during normal operation, let in a big air flow when the pipeline is filling-out and let out a big air flow when the pipeline is filling-in.
