    Turbid ez -Qu es?

    .

    La turbidez es una caracterstica ptica o propiedad de un lquido, queen trminos generales describe la claridad u opacidad del lquido.

    La turbidez no tiene que ver con el color, sino que se relaciona mscon la prdida de transparencia debida al efecto de partculas en

    suspensin, material coloidal, o ambos. Una falta de turbidez resultaen la pureza ya que es, en parte, el efecto de estos diversos materialesen suspensin sobre la luz que atraviesa el lquido.

    La unidad nefelomtrica de turbidez, (UNT) expresada habitualmentecon el acrnimo NTU del inglsNefelometric Turbidity Unit, es una

    unidad utilizada para medir la turbidez de un fluido.

    Corresponde con una concentracin del producto utilizado como patrn

    llamado Formacina, que es una solucin que se puede crear utilizando

    Sulfato de Hidracina y Hexametilentetraamina en unas proporciones

    conocidas para formar el patrn de turbidez .

    Suspensin Patrn de Formacina: Se prepara de la siguiente forma: a)

    Solucin 1: disolver 1 g de sulfato de hidracina ( MUY PELIGROSO )

    en agua destilada y dilyase hasta 100 ml.

    El instrumento usado para su medida es el nefelmetro o turbidmetro,

    que mide la intensidad de la luz dispersada a 90 grados cuando un rayo

    de luz pasa a travs de una muestra de agua.

    Nefelometra: Tcnica analtica basada en la dispersin de la luz por partculas

    en suspensin en el seno de una disolucin, midiendo el haz de luz en la

    direccin que forma un ngulo recto (90).

    Turbidimetra: Tcnica analtica basada en la dispersin de la luz por

    partculas en suspensin en el seno de una disolucin, la cual mide la

    disminucin de la transmitancia del haz de luz al atravesar la muestra.

    The 90 signal is almost completey independent to the particlesize or color and is mostly affected by particle quantity.

    The forward scattered light (11...25) is mostly affected by theparticle size and quantity.

    Los instrumentos actual y comnmente utilizados son los turbidmetros,

    que emplean un mtodo cuantitativo y deben cumplir los siguientescriterios en el diseo ptico:

    La longitud de onda de la radiacin incidente debe ser de 860 nm. La fuente de

    luz puede ser lmpara de tungsteno; diodos (leds) lser.

    El ancho de banda espectral debe ser menor o igual a 60 nm. La convergencia de

    la radiacin incidente no debe exceder 1,5 en turbidmetros de radiacin difusa

    y u o 2,5 en turbidmetros de radiacin atenuada.

    El ngulo de medicin entre la radiacin incidente y la radiacin difusa debe ser

    de 90 2,5 en turbidmetros de radiacin difusa y u o 0 2,5 en turbidmetrosde radiacin atenuada.

    La distancia recorrida por la luz incidente y dispersada dentro del tubo de

    muestra, no debe exceder 10 cm.
