All teams in Tuesday and Saturday Pennant (except Tuesday first side) will remain in their current divisions a wonderful result given a long injury and illness list. Full credit goes to players, selectors and coaches for getting competitive sides on the green each week.
Off the green the Club is well positioned for the future. Our financial position is sound, our green is in wonderful condition and recovered from a major renovation at Xmas in great shape. The Clubhouse and surrounds look fresh.
We have been fortunate to have new members who have all contributed and would encourage all members to promote Ivanhoe as a destination Club to their friends. Membership growth is vital to our ongoing success.
The Annual General Meeting will be held on Sunday May 20. Please note that nominations for Board Members and Selectors close on Friday May 4.
The following Board positions to be elected this year are: Secretary, Bowls Director, Membership Director and Functions Director.

Chairman’s Message
We have reached the end of another Bowling season and we should be proud of our efforts both on and off the rinks. Congratulations to our Tuesday first side for winning a Flag and being promoted back to Division One. Our Saturday third side made the finals but went down to Blackburn North in a close encounter..

Pennant Update
Midweek Pennant season final positions
The first side finished on top of the ladder and defeated Glenroy and Lalor to win promotion back into Division One. Second side finished a good mid table 6th. Third side finished 5th 14 points outside the final 4. No Midweek relegations.
Saturday Pennant season final positions
The first side finished 7th. It had a good period after the Christmas break winning 3 games and gaining a valuable 6 points against the two top sides. The 2nd side finished 5th missing the finals by one point. A late season loss to East Ivanhoe proved to be very costly. The third side finished 3rd and was defeated by Blackburn North in the semi final. The 4th side finished 8th falling away in the latter part of the season as player availability had a big negative impact on this side. The fifth side finished on the bottom of the ladder. This side has had to give walkovers for the last few weeks because we couldn’t field a side.
Tuesday Night Pennant
The night pennant consisted of one side that performed well and had some fun. The team finished 4th
and played the top Bundoora team in the semi final. Unfortunately we lost this semi final match against Bundoora. Ivanhoe then hosted the preliminary and grand finals.
Indoor Bias
The season commences on Monday April 30. If you are interested in a game please contact Adrian Ballinger who will be coordinating again this year.

This years Classic was held in near perfect weather conditions with the green being in excellent condition. Twenty-two teams competed with representation from 18 different clubs.
The competition was fierce with the winners and place getters being decided after the last game of the day. With no four game winners final places were separated by small perecentages.
The winners being David McCutchin, Francis McCutchin, Matt Aggis and Rod Kerrison from the Greensborough Club.
The runners up being Robin Doherty, Margaret Hunt, John Head and Pauline Bennett from Rosanna.
Everyone enjoyed the day with many vowing to return again next year.
Coach’s Update
The Club is delighted to announce the reappointment of Garry Dillon as Head Coach for the 2018/19 season.
Hello again to you all,
From the bottom of my heart I’d like to thank you all for a year well spent on the greens. We faced many challenges and came through a much stronger club for doing so. Well done to the teams that tasted finals action this year, and to the rest who managed to keep the club in its rightful divisions for the coming season.
The club has been kind enough to extend my tenure as coach, so I look forward to building on what we started this season. I’d love to see more of you take up the option of dedicated drills (as the third team did in the final weeks of the year), this is open to ALL players and I hope you feel confident enough to ask for any help you may require.
In the coming weeks I will post on Team App and the club notice board for a few off-season sessions to keep us moving forward.
I will also look to host an equipment session in the coming weeks – finding a day that suits most is the problem at the moment. I will post this to you all as soon as we can decide. This session will look at types of bowls that will suit you, as well as appropriate sizing. We will also look at bowling aids such as arms, and other means to keep you bowling pain free.
Thanks again for a fun year, please think of any friends you could bring along or talk into joining us, the more the merrier and we look forward to making it a fun and friendly environment for all.
