Hello Ladies,
I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We
will be starting our new year at our new meeting place, Christ Lutheran
Church on 8249 Jumper's Hole Road, Millersville-21108. They are very
happy to have us use their building. We will no longer be serving lunch.
If you would like to eat during our meeting please feel free to bring a
bagged lunch. We will be serving desert. Those whose last name begins with A-M will bring
deserts in January, March, May, July, September, and November.
Those of us whose last name begins with N-Z will bring desert February, April, June, August, October,
and December. We will provide coffee and tea.
Kathy Bailey came to our December meeting requesting help with the quilt show for 2017.The positions
we need to fill are: Co-Chair of Quilt Show--Star has volunteered for this. Advertising--we need someone
for this.
Peddlers table--Kathy and Jean
Grab Bags--Claudia
Pot Luck Dinner--we need someone for this.
Venders--we need someone for this
Assistant Co-chair for Bingo in 2018.
We also need a Chair person for our Love Project in February.
We owe a huge thank you to Bridgett and Star for our wonderful Christmas party. They did a fantastic
job. Thank you ladies. Also I would like to thank Becky for donating the punch bowl we gave to Saint
Alban's to replace their broken one. I have tried to contact them to make sure they found the bowl; no one
has answered the phone.

Meeting was opened by President Patsie Griffin
at 10:05.
1. Voting For New Location - Patsie reviewed
our 3 choices for a new meeting place. It was
moved, seconded and approved by the
membership that we will be meeting at Christ
Lutheran Church, 8249 Jumpers Hole Road,
Millersville, MD 21108 starting in January.
2. Announcements - Thank you to Brigit
Addison and Starr Yates for organizing the
Christmas luncheon. * Also, thanks go to Becky
McKie for the punch bowl replacement for St
Alban’s Church. * Becky will have red, white
and blue fabric for veterans’ quilts next month.
3. Bus Trip - If you are paying for the bus trip
you will need to give Carolyn Jackson a form as
well as a check.
4. Sunshine - Send your get well wishes to
Phyllis Conner. * Estelle Brown is in assisted
living and Betty Amos’s husband passed away.
Remember them with your cards and hearts.
5. Quit Show - Kathy Baily from Friendship is
looking for a co-chair for our quilt show (Sept.
22-24, 2017). Please let Kathy know if you are
interested in helping out. Our new location for the
show will be at Lindale Middle School, 415
Andover Rd., Linthicum Heights, MD 21090. *
We will also need someone to organize Friday’s
pot luck for those workers setting up the show. *
Friendship is searching for new venues for their
Raffle Quilt. Contact Kathy at kbailey
[email protected]. if you know of a place to display
the quilt and sell raffle tickets.
6. Quilt Bingo - A reminder that we are looking
for someone to co-chair the Bingo for 2018.
7. Charity - Last month the Board agreed to
donate $300 to NCEON (North County
Emergency Outreach Network) on behalf of our
guild.
8. Program - Patsie read summaries of the
quilting questionnaires that were submitted to her.
* The Right/ Left game was played for the gift
exchange. * The Christmas pot luck luncheon
followed the game. * Winners of “Name Two
People in the Guild Who Most Influenced You”
were Becky McKie, Carolyn Jackson, Barbara
Schafer and Marlene Howell.
9. Show and Tell - Tree skirt, 9 patch Civil
War, patriotic wall hanging, veteran’s quilt,
patriotic star, Korean War service ribbon, blue
and white, retreat scrap table, pink and burgundy,
red and white embroidered wall hanging, tree
wall hanging, Frosty the Snowman, triple Irish
chain, and table runner were shared.
9. Name Tag Drawing - Winners were Judy
Keane, Barbara Muller, Debbie Gill, Jeri Kelley
and Carolyn Jackson.
Meeting was adjourned at 12:20.

12 January 2017 - Diane Califano, from
Grasonville, MD, will present a lecture : Trunk
Show with Tools and Tips. The lecture is based
on her book "Building Blocks"...back to quilt
basics. She was inspired to write this book
because she was continually running into people
who couldn't find information needed to make
their quilting more efficient and accurate.
9 February 2017 - LOVE QUILTS -- We have
several people signed up to provide demos on fast
and easy quilts, but we need a few more. Please
let me or our President, Patsie Griffin, know if
you are interested in showing our Guild members
a new or old design with an easy twist for making
a charity quilt.
Note: Don't forget to bring your cash or
checkbook at this meeting to sign up for one or
both of Bonnie Hunter's workshops. Each class
fee is $45. Checks should be made out to
Friendship Quilters. A $25 deposit will hold your
classes, with another $25 (or $20 for only one
class) payment in February, $25 payment in
March, and $15 in April.

BUS TRIP GAME It's the 'REGIFT' game. Put anything that fits into
a brown lunch bag you would like to 'regift' with
your name inside. It could be quilt related or not--
such as hand lotion, soxs, mug, candy that's not
your favorite, etc. What gift/gifts do you want to
pass on??
Prizes for the most unusual, funniest, practical, or
?? also.
Join in for some laughs and fun and pass on a
Christmas gift you might not use or want.
