Hebrews 13:8Jesus Christ is the same yesterday
and today and forever.
Happy New Year! I never under-stood when I was younger, when Iwould hear somebody say, “Wow, thatyear went by fast!” As now I am get-ting older, it is true the years seem tofly by.
And as the years fly by, I watcheveryone around me get older, and ofcourse, I have stayed my own youthfulself. (Well, at least my heart is!) It istimes like these I look back andremember the boys when they wereyounger. The first years when Lee andI were married and lived in marriedhousing at Concordia. Even now as Istart thinking about things, I remem-ber back to the times with my brotherTim, who was sainted this last sum-mer. Wow, things have really changed.
I am at that time in life when some-day I will have grandchildren. As Iwalk around the stores I see all thethings that have changed since myboys were babies. Have you seen theawesome strollers they have now!
But also as I look back, I see themany blessings God has given me, andmy family. I see his guiding and lovinghand as he has guided us over theyears.
This year, take the time to look back.See the many things that havechanged with you and around you.And then see how God has trulyblessed you!
But there is something else I wantyou to see. No matter what changesaround us -- family, job, house, strollers -- there is one thing that hasnot changed and that is Jesus Christ.
We can always count on His forgive-ness and love, and the promise that Hehas given us. No matter where wemay be at in life, no matter what thechanges are going on around us --Jesus will always be there for us, andall of His blessings…will neverchange.
So Happy New Year! And may Godcontinue to bless you for another year.
