Jennifer Daniel and Dean Messerly were soloists, plus the congregation sang several Christmas carols, accompanied byMarvalyn Kelly. After Pastor Deans inspirational message, communionwas observed and as candles were lit, the musicians quietly playedSilent Night. The closing carol, Joy to the World, was meaningfullysung as all agreed that our Savior does indeed rule the world with truth

and grace. A special thank you to Rick Bessman for providing ourtraditional apples and candy bars to all of us.

CantataEighteen singers from our communities performed a Christmas cantata,Bethlehem Lights, on Dec. 15 during the worship service at Chapel.Chapels participants were Vaugn and Carolyn Kloster. The narrator wasMegan Slinglu!, and the director was Dan Lastovka, band andtechnology director at GMG. It was a very meaningful service performedby talented singers.

    The Womens Bible Study group

concluded with a salad and soup

    supper December 11 at Sue

    Kosters home. Throughout the

    twelve weeks, women watched

    Beth Moores DVD entitled Daniel.

The first six chapters dealt withDaniels life and facing pressures

that Christians also face today. He

modeled integrity while living in an

enticing world. The last six chapters

    explored prophecies from Daniels

time through the second coming of

Christ. It was thrilling to discover

that all Biblical prophecies, so far,

    have come true!

We will not meet during the winter

    but will reconvene next fall.

    In the Small Stuff...

    Prayer changes things.

Pray for people who dislike you.

Pray for the people you dislike.Prayer without effort will be insincere. Effort without

    prayer will be ineffective.

If your prayers dont mean anything ot you, they mean even

    less to God.

Dont pray for a lighter load. Pray for a stronger back.

Become quiet before God in the busiest and noisiest part ofyour day.

Prayer involves listening to God as well as speaking to Him.

    Pray with perseverance and expectancy.

At its core, prayer is giving yourself to God.

The next time you feel weak in the knees, try using them topray.

People of God may not talk about their prayer habits, but their

    lives speak volumes.

An excerpt from God Is In the Small Stuff by Bruce & Stan

For there is born to you this day in the city of David,a Savior,

    who is Christ the Lord.

    A Blessed New Year, everyone!
