Upcoming service changes

SamTrans January Service ChangesEffective Sunday Jan. 10, 2016, SamTrans will adjust 19 of its regular routes to improve on-time performance and connections. The adjustments also will allow SamTrans to improve its efficiency and provide more reliable service for customers.

All changes affect weekday schedules, unless otherwise noted.

SamTrans also will adjust routes that operate only on school days.

New timetables soon will be available on SamTrans buses and at schedule outlets, as well as at www.samtrans.com/schedules.

SamTrans reviews and adjusts its schedules three times a year in response to traffic impacts, customertravel patterns and other variables.

Route and schedule information is available on Google Maps. Visit www.google.com/transit to create your transit trip plan with SamTrans or other Bay Area transit services.

260Weekday service will be adjusted by up to six minutes.

273Weekday service will be adjusted by up to three minutes.

280Westbound service will be adjusted by up to six minutes. Eastbound, the last evening trip will be adjusted by six minutes. All trips will serve Stanford Shopping Center.

281Westbound trips between 2:19 p.m. and 10:15 p.m. will be adjusted by up to 15 minutes. One trip will depart Onetta Harris Community Center at 6:38 a.m.,seven minutes later than the current schedule.

The New Year Brings Changes

Effective Jan. 10, 2016, SamTrans will implement new fares following extensive public outreach and input.

The adult local fare will increase 25 cents, with the cost of adult monthly and day passes and tokens also increasing.

The premium fare for passengers travelling into San Francisco has been eliminated. However, the premium fare for passengers travelling on KX, 292 and 397 out of San Francisco will remain at $4.

Customers using Clipper cash value will receive a discount of about 10 percent. Youth are age 18 and younger. Two children 4 years and younger can ride free with one farepaying adult.
