Highlights from December Technology for Stroke Rehabilitation

Aaron Yurkewich, PhD candidate from University of Toronto come to the aphasia programs to demonstrate his incredible Robot Glove to our members with hand weakness or paralysis.

The first glove was made out of LEGO pieces and a battery, shown below with a member using the glove to pick up and hold a water bottle.

The second glove was made out of fishing wire, zip ties, and was battery-operated to open and close the hand, and was strong enough to hold a marker!

Our clients and staff were thrilled to see this demonstration and to learn about products being developed for individuals living with paralysis post-stroke.

For more information about Aaron and his work, click here: http://www.iatsl.org/people/ayurkewich.html
