I would like to take this opportunity to thank each one of you for your support. I represented IELC

Koramangala for the award ceremony which was held as part of the 9th Early Childhood Education National

Personal Safety awareness is a top priority and hence we continue to practice it today. It was such a pleasure

to have our Prep 1 parent Dr Lakshmi Ajit Veerappan address our dear students about various ways to stay

safe and much to her delight our students knew a lot and then ensued an engaging volley of questions and

some really deep conversations. We also thank Dr Premila Naidu from ‘Small bites’ and her team for the

awareness drive about dental health and overall hygiene and safety.

Students exclaimed: Our very first doctor visit at school! We thank Dr. Premila Naidu and her team for visiting

our center and engaging students in a super interesting session about personal hygiene and dental health.

Advisory Committee comprises of Prep 2 parent Ms Harshada Joshi , Prep 1 parent Ms Tejal Gothivarekar ,

Reception parent Ms Kajal Bhuta and Nursery duo Ms Anindita Das and Ms Shravya Dikshit. This carnival

giving their time and will be creating age appropriate creative art and craft for the same. The whole concept

is based on “Tikkun Olam “which is repair the world through social acts of kindness. Making students practice

universal values such as love, empathy, discipline and respect are our core values. A global citizen in the

true sense of the word. We will send you regular updates regarding the same.

Prep 2 students expressed that the Earth is getting sick and so they brainstormed and found creative ways to reduce, reuse and recycle. As part of the “Leadership starts early “program we discussed “Tikkun Olam” which in Hebrew means “Repair the world”

Lifelong learning and deep reading helps us practice more advanced cognitive skills like analysis, problem

solving, synthesis of new ideas, and creativity. We can only unlock our own potential and of those students

in our care when we immerse ourselves in daily learning, reflection and collaboration.

One of our main goals is to have students develop a love for learning and develop intrinsic motivation to learn

and we want them to continue to learn long into the future. Our children are engaging in pretend play as well

as some strategic thinking through collaboration that stimulates the sort of activities they will need to master

as adults, suggesting that play is a form of practice at Koramangala to learn 21st century competencies.

Every grade teacher sends out a monthly newsletter giving you information on the unit of inquiry/theme and of any specific grade-level activities and trips. In addition to this, the teachers also send a monthly calendar which will keep you abreast of the happenings on a daily basis. A monthly newsletter also goes out from the Head of Centre with updates of the bigger picture and school activities.

The diary must be brought to school daily. Information, feedback and updates will be shared through the diary.

Birthday Celebrations: If you wish to celebrate your child’s birthday at school, you may coordinate with the class teacher. Our policy is to allow parents to come to the class on the child’s birthday for cake cutting with the class. Please remember our school is a “Nut-free zone”. Kindly coordinate the same with your class teacher. Return gifts are not permitted.

Field Trips: Field trips will help children further understand what we are inquiring about. It is the experiential aspect of the theoretical things we learn. Field trips will be organized by the school and are related to the unit of inquiry/theme. Parents will be notified in advance and will be required to sign a consent form permitting your child to attend. Parents are welcome to join us as volunteers.

Parent Teacher Meets: In the first term we have a parent teacher meeting and second term we will conduct a 3 Way Conference (Parent Teacher Meetings), and the last term will have a Student Led Conference. Should you wish to meet with your child’s class teacher at any other time, please do send a note through the student diary to fix an appointment at a mutually convenient time. These sessions will give the parents and teacher’s an opportunity to see the work their children have done and receive a one-on-one report on the progress they have made and discuss strategies to support them further. Student Led Conferences: There will be a Student Led Conference at the end of the year where the students will take their parents through their portfolio’s and all the work they have done over the year and explain each piece of work, activity, the reasons behind doing it and their learning from it.
