Pastors Coffee Scheduled – January 10, 2016 If you are considering joining Longs Chapel United Methodist Church or interested in learning more about our transforming fellowship or our Methodist tradition, you are invited to join our pastors on Sunday, January 10, from 4 pm to 5:30 pm in room #505 (modular bldg. locat- ed on the back side of our Longs Chapel property.) The purpose of the Pastors Coffee is to provide guests, newcomers, and those interested in joining the church the opportunity to meet the pastor, ask any questions they might have, discover ways in which to engage in the life of the church, and learn what church membership means. At the Coffee you also will have the opportunity to sign up for a 6-week class called A Disciples Paththat will guide you in your next step along the path as a follower of Jesus. It is a wonderful opportunity for you to con- nect with other disciples and find support and encouragement as you continue to grow in your faith. Led by Kim Mulholland, certified Yoga and Yogafaith instructor. Geared to any level of yoga experience & beginners. Classes are by donations which support many ministries. Jan. 2016 class dates: 8, 15, 22, & 29. A new womens Bible study, The Armor of God, brings us the opportunity to develop a personalized strategy to have victory against the enemy. Lets be armed and dangerous against our foe! Class will meet on Thursdays, 2-4 pm, Jan. 28 – Mar. 24 in room 505. Workbooks will be available for purchase at the first class. A cunning, devilish enemy seeks to wreak havoc on everything that matters to you—your emotions, your mind, your family, your future. The last two stained glass windows have been installed. The Long's Chapel window, representing Jerusalem, has been given by Lillian Medford Howard and family in memory of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. G. Medford. The African mission window, representing missions "to the ends of the earth" has been given by Paul Moran in memory of his son, Paul Lewis Moran. Thank you for your gifts, and to those who have created the windows. The windows are located to the right of the door as you enter the church from the parking lot. The Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday will be celebrated in Haywood County Jan. 16-18. January 16 – The March It will leave the Haywood County Courthouse in Waynesville and make its way down Main Street to Pigeon Street and then to the Pigeon Community Multicultural Development Center for a time of fellowship and refreshments. January 17 – The Commemorative Worship Service This year the service will be hosted by First United Methodist Church of Waynes- ville at 3 pm. Rev. Justin Lowe will be the preacher. January 18 – The Prayer Breakfast Hosted by Lake Junaluska at the Lambuth Inn, this marvelous gathering begins at 8 am. Tickets can be purchased throughout the community.
