Please be sure to set your clocks back before you go to bed on Saturday night and enjoy that full hour of extra sleep before you come to church on Sunday. Wednesday Nights in the Sanctuary - Half Truths- Ever wonder what's Biblical and what's not? How to differentiate the truths of the Bible and common every-day sayings as truth is what Wednesday Night in the Sanctuary will be all about. Join Rev. Laura Jones for this Bible-based, fact-finding journey at 6:15 pm. No book necessary; bring your Bible or use one in the pews. This week s topic: God said it, I believe it, that settles it.Wednesday Night Acts 2:42 Dinner begins at 5:15 pm in the Fellowship Hall. Pricing: $6 adults/children 12 & older; $4 children ages 5-11 (4 and under eat free); $18 family maximum. Nov. 2 menu: All you can eat chili night (red chili and white bean chicken chil- li), toppings (salsa, sour cream, diced onions, jalapeno peppers), salad, garlic sticks/cornbread/tortilla chips, dessert. Cram the Van: Help us fill the church van with school supplies and hygiene products for students in need – TODAY in the parking lot. A project of the Homeless Youth Initiative. Supply list is available on church website. Mission Work Team to travel to the Mission Response Center on Friday, November 18. Join us as we work sorting and packing donated goods for shipment to UMCOR locations and Project Agape in Armenia. We travel on the church bus, leaving at 7 am. and re- turning by 7 pm. This is a great day of fellowship and working together helping others. Call Barb and Ed Gross at 452-4047 for more information and to reserve a seat on the bus. Are you in college or do you have a child in college? If so, please send us your/their updated address so an exam care package can be sent to each student. Email your information to [email protected]. Annual Festival of Tables Event for women coming soon! Nov. 14, at 6 pm. An evening of fun, scrumptious food and a magnifi- cent display of color and creativity at each table. Tickets available ($25) in the church office. Annual Charge Conference is Tuesday, November 15 at 7 pm in the Sanctuary. All church members are encouraged to attend. The business of this conference will be conducted in a worship setting. Please make plans to attend. All men – all ages are encouraged to check out the 7 am Tuesday morning study group in the Fellowship Hall and the 6:00 pm Tuesday evening study group in room #210. The 6:00 pm group brings a bag supper. The 4 th Annual Talent Show is Satur day, November 5, 7-9 pm at Tuscola Auditorium. Everyone is invited to come support this youth fundraiser while enjoying an evening filled with laughter and incredible surprises. All proceeds will support youth summer mission trips. Tickets available at the door or in the church office. For more information, call Shawn or Lindsey, 456-3993. Condolences to: Brooks Medford and family on the death of his wife, Celia Medford, on October 20, 2016. Have you been impacted by the rejection of someone you care about – family member, friend or co-worker – because of his or her sexual orientation? Did you know that there is a place here at Longs Chapel where you can safely share that hurt and (together with other Long Chapelers) hope for a future where all Gods children are valued for who they are? Conversations of Hurt and Hope meets the first Wednesday of every month at 6:15 pm in Pastor Chris s office. Plan to join us this week on November 2.
