Japan Airlines Launches Nonstop between JFK and Tokyo- Haneda New Route Increases Pacific Joint Business Network with American Airlines New York – April 1, 2017 – Japan Airlines (JAL) has increased its trans‐Pacific network with the launch of daily
service between New York –John F. Kennedy (JFK) and Tokyo‐Haneda (HND) starting April 1. JAL’s newest
route will operate as part of the airline’s joint business with fellow oneworld alliance member American
Airlines.
JAL celebrated the opening of its ninth continental U.S. route by holding gate ceremonies at both HND and JFK
airports.
“We are pleased to provide our customers with more flight options to and from the U.S. East Coast by
introducing this new daily nonstop between JFK and Haneda” said Akira Kimura, Japan Airlines’ Senior Vice
President ‐ The Americas. “This service is also conveniently timed to allow for same‐day connections to and
from 27 domestic destinations in Japan. “
JAL will operate its JAL SKY SUITE 777 (Boeing 777‐300ER) aircraft on the new route, which is fitted with the
airline’s latest cabin interiors and seats in a four‐class cabin configuration featuring 8 JAL SUITE seats in First
Class, 49 fully lie‐flat JAL SKY SUITE seats in Business Class, 40 JAL SKY PREMIUM seats in Premium Economy
Class and 147 JAL SKY WIDER seats in Economy Class. The aircraft is equipped with Wi‐Fi and offers
touchscreen monitors and universal AC power access.

The new JAL JFK=HND service is in addition to the airline’s daily JFK=Tokyo‐Narita (NRT) operation for a total of
14 weekly roundtrips between Tokyo and New York.
