Dear friends,

You might remember from my last letter that we’ve been preparing for our annual Spiritual Emphasis Week, here at Rancho Ebenezer, which took place the first week of May. Spiritual Emphasis Week (S.E.W.) is a week without classes in which we have worship, teaching, activities, and much more designed to allow our students to be more focused on how God is moving. This year, I volunteered to coordinate the event because I felt very excited about a specific vision for how to bring God’s truth to our young people. The week was much organized like a week of summer camp, but the primary focus was on a variety of teaching received in very small groups, almost like you might find workshops offered at a conference. We had 19 different adult teachers sharing in workshops based on their own giftings. The themes that the students had to choose from ranged from adult testimonies, to God’s wisdom, work ethic, purity, prayer, love, accepting criticism, resolving conflict, dealing with fear and shame, goals for the future, self esteem, our purpose under God, and even balloon making! We had an incredible team of eight singles here on the ranch leading the event, with help from our 3 Honduran teachers, 6 adult visitors from Tegucigalpa, Honduras and the U.S., and most all of the house parents. This was truly a team effort that was hugely successful. Our theme, “Total Reconstruction” was focused on four different relationships (that between us and God, others, ourselves, and world systems) that had been broken because of sin, and needed to be reconstructed through God’s grace and the sacrifice of Christ. We also had special family activities that allowed our children and house-parents to work through conflicts, we had a spectacular program for our primary students that challenged them in a fun and active way, daily worship together times together, service projects on the ranch and in the city and much more! All that to say that the Lord blessed us with a great team and an incredible week. Now we are finishing up the school year. I’ll be focusing on the two guys in my house and some media projects over the summer. I’ll also be visiting Arkansas for a couple of weeks during the break (June 5th - June 18th). I would love to hear from you if you have some time to get together. Thanks so much for all your prayers and support that makes my work possible. God bless!
