Jeff Haynes Colonel, USMC (retired) ……
Jeff Haynes graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1985 and was commissioned a Marine Second Lieutenant. In 2009, Mr. Haynes retired as Colonel after a 25-‐year career that allowed him to live and serve around the world. While stationed in the Philippines, he led security operations during the violent 1989 coup attempt to unseat President Corazon Aquino. Jeff served as an Aide to General Tommy R Franks, Commander, US CENTRAL COMMAND, traveling throughout the world in support of strategic engagements in response to the 9-‐11 attacks. In 2005, Jeff served in Baghdad, Iraq. During 2008, Colonel Haynes assumed command of an international
force in Afghanistan consisting of over 700 personnel from 5 countries with the task of advising an 11,000 man Afghan unit. Under his mentorship, the Afghan Army secured the restive Tagab valley significantly reducing violence and improving the livelihood for thousands of Afghans while denying sanctuary to terror networks and insurgents. From 2009 to 2011, Haynes served as the Director of Operations for Glevum Associates, a small international firm that conducts social science research and analysis abroad. From 2012-‐2016, he worked for Raytheon as a Program Manager. In 2012, Haynes established Global 21 Strategic Solutions, a Limited Liability Company focused on defense consulting and training. With Global 21, he has taught leadership and operations to numerous NATO countries and provided consultation services to United Arab Emirates. Today, Global 21 continues to support key contracts in defense of US interests. Haynes earned a Masters Degree from Redlands University in 1998 and a Masters of Strategic Studies from the Air War College in 2002. Haynes also has been published by Defense News and the Foreign Policy Research Institute and interviewed by BBC, C-‐SPAN, Janes Defense, USA Today, The Washington Times and numerous bloggers.

Haynes will speak about conflict resolution through his 25 years as a Marine serving around the world in a variety of contentious environments. He’ll share insights concerning the importance of understanding your role as leader in the conflict while highlighting the importance empathy and cultural understanding of the opposing parties. Other points include alignment of action, dealing with confirmatory bias, importance of personal relationships and achieving durable solutions.
