Jesus is our Passover lamb. As New Testament believers our attention is directed toward the sacrifice that Jesus made at Calvary. Jesus, as the Lamb of God, is equated to the Passover lamb used in Exodus as the starting point of Israel’s walk out of bondage. The Exodus is a type of our salvation experience. Jesus, as our Passover lamb, suffered and died for us on the altar of the Cross. The difference being, our Lamb was raised from the dead. The similarity is that the sacrifice of the Lamb was necessary for deliverance from bondage. We were freed from sin and Satan – they were freed from Pharaoh and 400 years of slavery. God stages types and shadows to act as an example – a graphical way of explaining a truth. We are able to look at the type and gain understanding of a spiritual mystery. Every year we celebrate the Resurrection of our Lamb at Passover/Easter. Passover is equated to the sacrifice at Calvary. Easter is the Day our Lamb was raised from the dead. The Resurrection occurred almost two thousand years ago. The testimony is that we have been sustained in the Promised Land of our inheritance all these years. We are sustained by a Grant of Grace, commissioned by our King, the Lord Jesus Christ. Grace is God’s power released from heaven to bring His will to pass in the earth. God’s Grace has be granted to us, giving us the Power to Possess our inheritance that Jesus paid for with His sacrifice. We are able to celebrate and mark the passing of each year because of the Grace granted. It’s the Grace that sustains us. Not our power or abilities. Here at Faith Landmarks Ministries we also celebrate an anniversary every Easter. Easter Sunday, 1980, we began as a church body. We held church services in the fourth floor of a tobacco warehouse in Church Hill, Richmond, VA. By His Grace we began – by His Grace we continue! From a meager group of thirteen people, until now, this church is a testimony of His Grace.

This year we celebrate 40 years as a church body. God has shown Himself strong in our lives. That’s the nature of a Grace operation. Our frailties can easily be seen!

His Grace is also easily evident.

We are careful to give Him the Glory for all He has done.

This year as we celebrate the anniversary of this church and ministry, celebrate with us by sowing a special Passover Offering to honor our Lord Jesus Christ as our Passover Lamb.

Paul exhorted the Corinthians to purge out the old leaven, and be renewed by sincerity and truth.

Sow your best offering to honor Him.

Make a new beginning with your seed. May this be a new beginning of the reign of Grace in everyone’s life.

Be blessed,

Pastors Randy & Cherie Gilbert
